Kosei Tanaka vs. Julián Yedras RBR

Round 2

Tanaka is shuffling left, sticking the jab, and rushing in behind it to hammer down with a right hand on the far side of Yedras' head. Tanaka starts to work a quick sweeping left hook into his arsenal while waltzing with Yedras in center ring. FLUSH right cross splitting the gloves apart by Tanaka. Yedras is buzzed and fades back into the ropes. More hooks by Tanaka. Yedras manages to keep his guard up and weather the storm and comes back with some body hooks.

Round 3

Tanaka is jabbing the head and hooking into the ribs, torquing his entire body into the punch coming off bent knees and forcing Yedras to involuntarily step laterally. Yedras is covering up with his forearms bunched narrowly together, biding his time and throwing power slap combos at Tanaka's sides. Looping right up top by Yedras, connecting flush on the sideburns yet not backing Tanaka up. More body shots by Tanaka. Yedras reverts to his pattern of defending patiently and then wasting his own turn offensively with underhanded slashes hitting Tanaka's elbows.

He moves like he weighs 60lbs, yet he's the bigger stronger man in there.

 

Round 4

Yedras is leaning forward and cutting at the body with both hands in wide inward swipes. Tanaka is jabbing and slipping punches with his face literally square in front of Yedras, with minimal swerving, just timing everything perfectly. Body shots by Tanaka. Yedras goes for broke, ripping uppercuts with both hands. Tanaka is mercurial on the inside, taking only a minority of grazing shots along the flanks, most hitting arm or air. BIG left hook downstairs by Tanaka.

Round 5

Tanaka is meeting Yedras' advance headlong and ramming into him, both heaving into each other, neither budging. Exchange of body shots. Tanaka scoring more cleanly. Yedras starts to bash away up top, attempting to loop around Tanaka's guard. Too much reflexive speed from Tanaka, slipping and countering. Jab, jab, uppercut, overhand by Tanaka - hell of a sequence, two quick punches with each hand in rapid succession. Yedras forcing a brawl, punching with Tanaka, scoring his looping right but taking an uppercut or two (or uppercut & overhand) for every shot he gets in.

Yeah in the first couple it seemed like Tanaka could outbox him easy, but he's getting away from that.

Yedras seems to relish the wildness even though most of the punishment shipped is his way.

 

Round 6

Tanaka is shredding Yedras in close with left upper-hooks. Two-armed shove by Tanaka, placing Yedras on the ropes. Right uppercut by Tanaka. Yedras is battling back with short hooks and gavel blows on the neckline inside. Left, right, left, right, left uppercut by Yedras swinging his way in kamikaze style. Tanaka is leaning into them, earmuffs on.

10-9 Tanaka, much closer...Yedras started to have some really prolonged successes..

I could see the sixth to Yedras, actually, especially after seeing those slow motion replays of more than I thought landing flush on Tanaka (like 4 or 5 at once in a 7 punch combo)
