Round 7 Tanaka is backing up now, perhaps winded. Yedras begins to cannonball into him and works uppercuts on the body, alternating hands as he shifts his way inside. Double jab by Yedras, and more undercutting belt line shots. Tanaka is still leaning in headfirst, leaving a lot of himself exposed with his gloves down by his chin & throat. Yedras takes advantage, bopping him on the brow and top of the head while still focusing largely on the body. Hooks traded with both hands, Yedras getting his arms flung aside by Tanaka's but pressing forward and throwing in bunches to compensate. 10-9 Yedras 69-63 Tanaka
Round 8 Tanaka is gulping his breaths down, creating distance. Tanaka moonwalks and waits for Yedras to come to him, then flurries and backs out again. Nice counter 1-2 by Tanaka snapping Yedras' head back. Yedras is ripping body shots and leaping back in straight lines to dodge Tanaka's jab. 10-9 Tanaka but he needs to find some reserves of energy 79-72 Tanaka
I suspect, though might be wrong, that the energy is there, we saw him "looking" tired in round 8 against Hara...then dominating in 9 and 10
I didn't want to pee on anybody's parade but I knew he wasn't quite on Inoue's level either, good but not that good, I also had the same inkling about Jomthong, which is why I held off on doing a thread on him for so long, and my suspicions were somewhat correct, although WTF were they thinking putting him in there with Uchiyama so early.
Round 9 Tanaka is drawing Yedras onto his jab, throwing it lightly in a predictable and monotonous rhythm. Lulling Yedras. Yep, playing possum - Tanaka explodes on Yedras and pounds him into the ropes with a series of 1-2s and hooks! Yedras jerks away, showing a bit of elasticity and good defensive instincts under fire, not getting slammed with too much of Tanaka's onslaught. 10-9 Tanaka 89-81 Tanaka
Round 10 Tanaka is dancing in from angles separated by just a few degrees, and effortlessly tattooing Yedras' face with left jabs while keeping both hands low in between. Tanaka starts to pop in a 1-2, all while forcing Yedras to whirl in place to keep up with him, desperately pawing with body shots and wide lunges up top. 10-9 Tanaka 99-91 Tanaka
