One of the most accurate of all time vs. one of the most elusive.

I favor Tszyu. The way to beat Kosta is constant pressure, something that couldn't be farther from what Locche did. Give Kosta room to operate like Locche will to varying degrees and he's lethal.

    Thoughts?

I had zero deal. Wouldn't have made it if I did know, obviously.

    All apologies.

No need for the apology there.

I ultimately went with Kostya for the record, maybe the styles slightly suit him moreso than they do Locche, but the case could be argued the styles are good for either man to prevail, just who you think is better.

I actually think the style matchup will like i say, ultimately be in favour of Tszyu

I wonder if Kosta could cut Locche to a stoppage...

    Hmm.

Maybe, i dont normally like entertaining the idea of cuts, feel like im kopping out by doing so!!!

Although with an accurate hitter like Kostya it could be argued its a fine art cutting a guy up.

Kostya isn't anymore accurate or offensively potent than Cervantes. He's not got Antonio's jab or height\reach either.

I thin he would give Locche issues early, but is too mechanical not to get figured out offensively.

You don't feel Kosta hits harder then Cervantes?

What is the difference between Tszyu and say someone like Cervantes who Locche schooled?

The only advantage Tszyu has over Cervantes is that he has a slightly faster and harder straight right hand.

On the other side, Cervantes has more stamina, better body punching, a better jab, he's taller and got a longer reach and he has a better chin.

I can see Tszyu nailing Locche with some right hands, and I do give him a slight chance of stopping him (Carlos Hernandez, who had a great right hand, had Locche ready to go apparently during their fight at one stage before Locche recovered and took a wide points win), but Locche does have a great chin, and for the most part, I can more easily envisage Locche making Tszyu miss and countering him silly than I can seeing him knocked out.

Tszyu is a bit too easy to predict with his punches imo for a master at guessing his opponents' next move like Nicolino.

I'd say it would be something like 9-3 in terms of rounds, with a knockdown and another stage where Locche is seriously hurt throughout the fight, but nonetheless, a comfortable gap on the scorecards for the untouchable.

BTW, I wasn't aware that the junior welter tournament was already underway :D

Just don't see Kostya winning this fight. Locche would make him miss and tire him out late for a UD. I've said it once and I'll say it again; only some of the greatest of all time at that weight are going to beat Locche. He's a vastly underrated fighter in the scheme of things.

Tzsyu wouldn't fare well againt The Untouchable, for that reason alone - he'd have a hard time just trying to make contact. And that's not to denigrate Tzsyu in any way. Locche was a MASTER on the art of defensive boxing. He'd give anybody fits.
