agreed it's ridiculous Tyzu got knocked out by Vince Phillips do you EVER think Cotto @ 140 lbs whud get knocked out by Vince Phillips? NOPE

Who had Tyzu fought at 140 lbs but an old Chavez and an old Roger Mayweather

Miguel Cotto has a FAR superior record @ 140 lbs (full of fighters IN THERE PRIME)

As soon as Tyzu fought a top young strong champion in his prime what happened?? exactly....he was exposed again

Cotto stops him late with a bodyshot

Read his book. It gives a good insight into what was happening in his life before that loss

Tszyu is overrated in this forum but clearly he would put Cotto to sleep.

Tszyu is your typical overrated "foreign" fighter who the fangirls of boxing think is cool to root for...If he was just some standard White guy from Iowa he wouldn't get 1/10th the hype he does....But since he's from Russia and is "cool" to root for everyone vastly overrates his accomplishments.

Don't get me wrong he was a solid good fighter, but never elite or at the level that a Prime Cotto was at. Kostya was a good, but not great fighter.

Cotto at 140 would have tore his ass up by the 9th round...Cotto was the far superior fighter.

It's because he's "foreign" and "cool" to root for by the dumb hipster fans of boxing....Kind of like a "I know something that you don't know" kind of thing and since everyone knows Cotto he's not as cool or exotic enough to be hyped up by them....

But make no mistake about it....Cotto would have smashed Kostya Tszyu.

These type of fans were the same people hyping up Lucas Matthyse as an unbeatable God and now (after he got exposed) they have moved onto GGG and soon someone else after he gets exposed.

    It's pathetic really.

tszyu was a beast.his whole career in the ams and pro's was p4p the best.shane mosley even said he had to be avoided so everyone just went to 147.cotto had the wbo strap at the time and the jww division was packed with talent...

Overrating of Tyzu on this forum is getting out off hand. Cotto will have no problem doing a vince phillips on him.

even though I agree tszyu was over-rated, don't forget the cotto - torres fight could easily have been stopped in the second round, which would have flipped that tszyu - phillips result

cotto AND tszyu are over-rated if anyone here really believes that cotto is suddenly an ATG on the back of beating martinez

i think tszyu would be a very bad fight for cotto, especially considering he looked a bit chinny at this weight. he looks markedly improved under the guidance of roach but i think tszyu would have him backpedaling and exhausted in the later rounds, ending with a tko.

Well Cottos prime was at welterweight and at near prime at 140 was drained. So is difficult to decide Cotto have more skills that koztya and boxing ability, but Tyzu is a one punch ko artist. At catchweight I favor Cotto a prime 140 lbs Tyzu was too much for the 15 fight novice Cotto that was making 140 healthy.

He was fighting what once a year or less at that point? Just cruising for retirement, retired after defeat.

It was a good win for Hatton, sure - but prime KT beats anyone at 140
