    It's a coping mechanism. He's gotta believe that factors other than the fact that Mundine is a better boxer contributed in his terrible loss. He spoke the truth on the night, but during the next 6 months when you're surrounded by 'yes men' and guys like shiner, etc... you start to believe that you truly were off your game, etc.

    look i understand why Danny's doing it and bringing up the weight drain excuses.hes 37 has a family and like any man wants to provide the best future for them.and excuses as to why he lost help sell the fight to the public.but people regurgitating his 4 year after the event excuses as gospel is ludicrous.still its obviously working.people believe what they want to despite the facts.

    had to :lol::lol::lol::rofl:rofl:rofl at Danny's Calzaghe/Lacy prediction.

    ''It is very interesting,'' says Green, thoughtfully. ''Kudos to Jeff Lacy for travelling there to the UK for the fight. He is not afraid and he will destroy Calzaghe. He will blow him away. I am looking forward to watching it. People who won't fight out of their home country I have no respect for whatsoever. You look at (WBA champion) Mikkel Kessler, Lacy and myself. We have all taken the opportunity to fight overseas. Mundine too and I respect that. It is a huge difference. It takes a lot of skill and a lot of balls. Take Sven Ottke and Markus Beyer out of their comfort zone and see how they fight. I don't have the same amount of respect for them as I would with someone who travels outside of their own country and puts their world title on the line.''

    him and Fenech are good boxers but terrible at predicting fight outcomes.:lol::patsch

    brilliant

    To be fair he had previously blown veit away and it wasn't much of a risk, however it is always nice to beat a german in the land that rules forgot.

    I had Calzaghe to batter Lacy on the main board ( Me and about 5 others )on my return home from the fight i was delighted to recived about 20 emails saying congrates but not so made up about the 2 threatening death :)yikes) some people aye ? :nut Ps Green probably forgot Calzaghe had fought world wide for years in the am's and he had defended his title in Denmark as well as Germany Prior to destroying Jeff Lacy in ENGLAND . Would you lads down under compare Green fighting in New Zelund as a " Home bout " ?

    No - you have to get on a plane to go to The Lend of the Long Flet Vowel, and is not a dependent nation - despite nearly every ****er living here on the dole. Wales on the other hand is an arse-end Nation, part of Great Britain mainly because England thought it would be a laugh beating the **** out of a bunch of hairy sheep-shaggers that sing like crap. It would be more like Danny fighting in Brisbane and declaring it an "away" fight! :p

    I had Calzaghe winning by ref stoppage in the 11th or 12th...as I remember it, the fight should have been stopped in the 10th, but Lacy's corner refused to throw in the towel.

    in the lead up to the Kessler fight Joe actually accepted a 5000,000 offer from Palle to fight Kessler in Denmark.when that fight was being discussed the build up on this forum was mad in the General forum.it was Denmark versus a New Zealand guy called Blocky.:lol:fun times.

    Kessler wouldnt have got much after Joe was paid so he
    told Palle he wanted the fight in Joes territory so he got a decent payday.Joe was willing to travel to Denmark the hatred he gets on here is ridiculous.

    No doubt you also had all 3 judges scores predicted also pp :rofl

    Calzaghe was born in London.

    The fight only ever made financial sense to happen in Britain, it sounds like a typical frank warren comment though. Frank is good at his job and would never have let that fight happen in Denmark let alone for 500,000 although I imagine Joe would have fought for that price.

    I hope he comes back!

    For pervy phony that's $ not £'s offered to taylor in the article :hi::rofl:rofl:rofl
