He never Officially retired, is he done! whats he up to these days?
I still think he would have taken Hatton if not for the Ref and the home field advantage.

    yeah me too, no doubt.
The fact he's shown no real interest in another fight also lends weight to the argument he was winding down his career and too a last big payday then ride off into the sunset. He won't fight again IMO.

Who deserved a rematch with him? Mitchell got one because he injured his knee the first time.
He would have fought Phillips again but he lost to Millett in 99 so Tszyu fought Gonzalez. Judah did not deserve a rematch so i'm puzzled as to the question.
As for Tszyu fighting again....forget it he is done.

Many fighters are criticized by the fans for staying in the game too long, and taking so much punishment that they seriously endanger their health and mental faculties later on in life. This is a guy who got out at exactly the right time. He has been smart with his money, and will continue to be a great ambassador for boxing outside the ropes. You can't really write the story any better than that.

I think we can all safely say this: once a fighter has reached a level where they are, without a doubt, one of the best ever in their respective weight division, they really have nothing left to prove.

Kostya has his hands full with other business endeavors such as books and movies and goodness knows what else. He doesn't have to fight to make money any more - and seems content with the life he is currently leading. He appears to be retired from active ring life - whether he has made it official or not. I still remember when Lennox Lewis was not retired in early 2004 - then all of the sudden - he announced his retirement and I realized that he had actually been retired since 2003. Like the song goes, you don't know what you got til it's gone.

Well he better take a tune up, if not a few tune ups if he ever fights again. That would be wise.

What would be the point? By the time he gets in fighting shape again and takes a few tune ups, he won't even be anywhere near the same fighter he was when he fought Hatton.

Fighters always have loose ends at the end of their career. Unavenged losses, contenders that they never fought, etc. Actually, I wonder if he would ever consider training fighters. I think that would be really interesting, because he is one of the best amateurs of all time and would have a lot of knowledge to impart. And I would not want to **** with any man who is able to endure KT's grueling training regimen!

    He's 100% retired.

He's mentioned it in a russian interview, however I don't think he'll make an official announcement for a while longer, if at all. Suspect he's just quietly stepped away.

Thats just a load of crap about Tszy losing because of the referee.
Hatton never gave him a chance to get set. It was a well thought out plan that Rick executed beautifilly. It was ballsy too, not too much unlike Kelly Pavlicks performance against Edison Miranda. Its one thing to plan to back up monsters like Tszy and Miranda, but doing it takes a lot of heart and guts and self belief. Thats why it is so annoying to see someone try to diminish Hattons accomplishment against Tszy with
all that BullS**t about home field advantage and crooked refereeing.

your wasting your time mate.they're deluded they'll never accept their golden boy quit.it always amazes me how they never give tszyu stick for appearing to be happy to quit on his stool with only one round remaining.could you imagine if that had been hatton!
