He should be smart like Hagler and stay retired.

I hope he officially retires now and does not fight again. A comeback @ this time would end disappointing himself and his fans.

His trainer would never support a comeback.

He said recently that Tszyu has dropped 20% and Hatton has improved 20%, so there's no way he can compete with the elite.

I bet he could still come back and KO people like Witter, Rees and co.

If he comes back it will be at 147. He stayed far too long at 140 and had trouble making weight for the Hatton fight for the first time in his career.

First of all i am a Hatton fan but if that fight was in the USA Hatton would have been DQ'd in the 9th, the fight was even up until the 8th round and Hatton's deliberate low blow effectively ended the fight there and then. Sure Tszyu underestimated him and gave up far to many advantages but that's boxing and Tszyu paid the penalty. He was going on 36 and had fought 3 rounds in three years ! He was done before he started against a young gun like Hatton, if the fight was in 1998-2000 Tszyu would have KO'd Hatton inisde 5 rounds! As for a comeback, I don't see it happening, Tszyu had shoulder surgery again about 12 months ago and his injuries were hampering him even when he was active so there is no chance he will fight again although i think he could take Witter and Malignaggi on the same night!

Ah, yes. I forgot about that. But I was thinking more along the lines of him training some of the best fighters out there.

Imagine if Kostya approached James Toney a few years ago and said, "alright man. I'm your trainer now. You take care of the skill and technique aspect. I'm in charge of your conditioning."

At the end of training camp Toney would be a middleweight again.

Toney wouldn't listen to Tszyu anymore than if Hagler came to train him.

    Toney is Toney.

Plus Tszyu doesn't have any steroids in his training bag.

Plus Toney is probably just as if not more skilled than Kostya - Just a different style.

    Anyway -

    A) Tszyu is retired for all intents and purposes. He has dropped a couple of hints last year that he was considering a fight - I wonder if that was due to Roger Mayweather dropping his name as a potential opponent if Tszyu came back and won a couple fights in a Ring mag interview last year.

I think Roger still wants to get back at Tszyu for kicking Rogers ass all over the ring in Newcastle in 95.

    Ain't going to happen though.

    B) Hatton fans - Tszyu has more class than a high school - He didn't complain on the night about any fouls, refereering dsecisions - Nothing. But if you're going to sit there and type that the ref did Hatton no favours then I'm afraid it's time to wipe the steam off of your one eyed fanboydom.

Ricky fought the right fight - No one is taking that away from him, including Kostya, but that referee -

    * Did not take a point for the most blatant foul in title fight history this side of Duran's left hook to the balls on Ken Buchanan - And at least Johnny LoBianco was out of position for that one - Dave Parris was right there.

The belt line is commonly accepted as a legal punch - Tszyu dropped Hatton with a PERFECTLY legal shot that was ruled a low blow.

No one is taking away Ricky's achievement - But to say that the referee had no impact on a fight that Ricky would have been behind on two of the judges cards if Tszyu had been awarded the knock down and Hatton had a point taken - Then I'm afraid you're just kidding yourselves.
