Kostya Tszyu and Joe Cortez vs. Ricky Hatton

It's not only Yanks who complained about the ref job in the KT vs Hatton fight...."FANS" in general were a bit taken back by the way the ref allowed the fight to play out. I even recall some brits saying that the ref was biased. I could care less...this is boxing not ball room dancing. If they get rough so be it....but make sure they are throwing punches and not hugging most of the time. I want a ref to break the action so the fighters can do what they came there to do....throw those hands. you cant' throw hands when they are too busy grabbing the arms of your opponent.

Seriously, I didn't hear that before the fight except from maybe a couple of fanatics. Certainly an insignificant number compared to how many "Hatton is garbage" threads I have seen here lately.

 

MANY Posters! I've seen threads saying RJJ is the most over rated boxer in history, same with Floyd and James Toney....I'm sure its not all brits saying that but I'm sure it's not just americans either. Point is this fight is still VERY fresh....you see more "Hatton is Garbage" threads b/c of the fight this past weekend.

After the Sam Peter and Toney II fight there were crazy threads saying how James has always been a fraud ect.ect.ect. It comes from fans who don't know boxing and have perfered favorites. To me...Hatton is a very good boxer...he's not the best but he is a dangerous opponent at 140 to anyone in the top 10

 

I didnt say Tszyu was up or would have been up after the last round. Try comprehend whats being said before deciding who 'fails' idiot. :roll:

You can mention it till you turn blue in the face.There was a time when ESB was a hotbed and we had literally 10`s of knowledgeable posters who were all on point.Those times have changed and most of the new posters are rookies and arm chairs fans.Alot of them are also young.You wont last long here if you let those muppets get to you.

 

Wow, I forgot how good of a fight that was. I think if that fight had happend a few years earlier it would have been really interesting. But if you crowd Tsyzu you can get hin unorganized, and punches are not that effective when you are backing up

Different Ref it would be a whole different Ball Game.

Cortez, Nady any Nortyh American Ref and we wouldnt have to hear **** about Hatton this and Hatton that.

When i look back on the fight a way up all the things Tszyu had to go through to win.

All the people who have been going around stating the ref makes no difference to a match and didn't affect the Mayweather fight. Are now in here saying the ref makes a huge difference in a match and was the reason why Hatton won.
