At 1:21, Kostya was saying when he "was skinny". He looks to be in great shape unlike Hatton and Naz.
I know. It's too bad Floyd ducked him. That's where Floyd's illustrious career of ducking started, actually.
I go back and watch Kostya sometimes and it just blows me away how brilliant he was. Smooth a silk when he wanted to be but he could turn into the most ferocious killer at the flick of a switch.
Yeah I was lucky enough to meet him he was shorter then I expected but I remember seeing 1 of his workouts was amazing sum of the stuff he was doing he was always 1 of the best conditioned fighters and still looks in amazing shape
He's one of the guys who always stayed in the gym, if I recall correctly it took him quite a while to "officially retire" and it was only within the last 3-5 years that he finally decided to call it a day.
Tszyu one of the most overrated boxers of all time. Best win was Zab Judah and Tszyu got completely schooled and beaten down by a very average Vince Phillips in Tszyu's absolute prime. LOL and fools in here saying he would have beaten Floyd. His best win was Zab Judah ffs. Did all the greats around his weight duck him his whole career did they ? Vince phillips didn't did he. Hehehehehehehe
It was sad the way it finished. I suppose he delayed officially retiring thinking he might come back for1 last fight but didn't want to cheapen the sport by beating some tomato can so he can say he retired a winner. KT was an excitement machine I'm not going to enter into the Floyd ducking argument as Floyd conquered different divisions whereas KT only dominated 1.
For anyone that ever followed Tszyu's career. Did he underachieve or did he fail to implement his amateur skills in the pro game to their full extent? I've watched some fights, & watched his amateur win over Vernon Forrest numerous times & considering how he boxed, added to his power in the pro's I would have expected him to have dominated more. Did he lack inside game, or was he power happy in pro game? I was always curious about KT, because his amateur stuff blew me away. I remember him looking slow VS Hatton & thinking, that's not the KT I seen previously but back then fights were harder to get a hold of. I only seen 3-4 pro fights & some amateur stuff.
Tszyu was a good fighter and nobody can take that away from him. Watch him in the Olympics move his head!
