The Tszyu that got beat by Hatton, maybe! :deal

But we're not talking about that Tszyu.

    We're talking prime Tszyu.

I suppose on that basis, as Vince Phillips beat him then loads of others would win as well.

Cotto and Hatton have some similarities, but are essentially different - Hatton is a pure pressure fighter with no reverse gear or defence. Cotto is a 'boxer puncher' with a varied skillset.

Tszyu was vulnerable to the pressure fighter but dealt with boxers and punchers with ease.

Once Tszyu lands, it's over... Cotto had a very shaky chin at 140.

Cotto is closer to a pure pressure fighter than Hatton. Don't be fooled by him counterpunching against Margarito, he did so because it was prudent.

If you think of the purest pressure fighter, a Duran, Cotto is far closer to that style than Ricky Hatton. He's more of a brawler/rough house type.

I think Tszyu has less problem with that kind of pressure than with the kind of pressure that Hatton put on him.

Cotto would at times be in range of the right hand, whillst throwing a jab or something. Hatton never was in range really.

I don't neccessarily disagree, Tszyu gets flustered and no leverage when guys are clinching and hugging him like flies round ****.

Still doesn't change that Cotto is the true pressure fighter in its traditional form. It's educated pressure behind a jab.

    Oh dear God. :patsch

Thought this poll would have been a landslide for Cotto... So glad most people still remember Tszyu, and that the poll is a landslide for him (as it should be)

I think Tszyu would end up stopping him.

And in relation to Cotto-Tszyu, this means?

Not to mention this was Tszyu's last fight, after only boxing 3 rounds in the last 28 months due to injuries.

Cotto does NOT see the 12th round against Kostya.

lol, people aren't saying koysta would win because cotto just lost, the answers from most people would be the same wither way, and i agree koysta ko within 10 rounds.

    I agree.

I see the jab part of the fight being a problem. As in he throws a jab and Tszyu crushes him with a counter right hand over the top of it, rendering him unconscious.

Perhaps so TFFP, Hatton is an all out brawler these days - but less so when he actually fought Tszyu IMO.

Whether you feel Cotto is better than Hatton or not - he is much more likely to be undone by the pea and thimble trick, pawing left jab followed by dynamite right hand (see Judah + plenty others) than Hatton was.

The win, in truth, ruined Hatton. He began to think that he could beat everyone fighting this way (he was nearly right) but in truth it was the only way Tszyu was going to be taken down - the tactic needed to be ditched immediately afterwards.
