Well Mitchell went on to beat Jose Cruiz who gave Shane a good fight. It was obviously a tune up fight and it was not tauted as nothing more then that. The funny thing about Kosta it was one of his shining accomplishment wins. But for Floyd it was just a tune up.
r A good boxer type does not get ruined by a beat down as does a slugger. You dont beat the skills out of him. Sharmba was damaged but far from ruined. It is not like he took punishment consistently. That is bull**** C money. So I guess Tszyu was ruined by phillips who landed about 6-7 unanswered power shots before the fight got stopped and Tsyu was out on his feet after the third shot.
At the end of your career, getting a beating where you are knocked down 4 times before being stopped by the biggest puncher in the division would certainly not do wonders for your career. Because KT was younger he managed to comeback, and even then Johnny Lewis stated it was a massive struggle for Kostya, mentally more so then physically.
I guess we agree to disagree?? Sorry chief but Kostya ****ED Mitchell up and took him out insa more spirited effort after Mitchell quit the first time. Theres No way in hell, you'll convince me Mitchell was even a shell of himself thereafter:nono Kostya ****ing took all the starch out of Mitchell and laid a damaging beating down!! C'mon KT delivered as much punishment in those 3 rounds as Mitchell had absorbed previously. After that point? Mitchell was just an opponent and his confidence, prime, and skill were fading memories.
One thing to make clear. Not even the most die hard Floyd fan brags on a Sharmba win, or rarely talks about it as an accomplishment. I have never even heard Floyd mention that win. It was a pure tune up of course HBO had to give some incling that Sharmba had a shot by talking about his past record etc etc.
Floyd was never going to present Kostya with a style though that gave him difficulty to adapt to though. Kostya not being able to adapt in the ring prevented him from being an ATG. But it doesn't mean he couldn't trouble a guy whom his skills matched up to. Kostya could box very well, he just does it very differently to the US guys. he uses only small movements, and holds the hands extended to slow his opponent down. Then when he punches he uses great angles and does so explosively. This has worked well against mayweather in the past, as effective pressure like against Castillo gave him less counter punching opportunities. Kostya wouldn't look to beat Floyd through work rate, but would fight smart. He certaily wouldn't rush in wide open like Hatton will. People forget that Kostya knew every trick in the book, and much like BHop could use certain tactics to his advantage, especially roughing up the quicker guys on this inside. Still picking Floyd by a close decision, but just justifying why I think KT could trouble him.
:rofl No it was Floyd set UP so he could avoid othes and line up JUDAH!!! Mitchell spent his career at 40 but suddenly he's 47 post beat down just to serve Floyds' timetable vs Judah. Keep in mind Floyd never wanted Baldo:nono the Mitchell fight was a joke and shouldnt have ever even happened, much less be his FIRST at47:rofl :rofl :rofl
IMO Floyd beats Zoo in a wide UD. This is my opinion only so pls no cry babies, just other opinions, and a nice debate if it's possible! IMO Floyd would be to quick, slick, and defensive. Yes Zoo beat Judah, and Mitchell, but Floyds a different breed, and at 140lbs he was incredible. Both Judah, and Mitchell were southpaws which made landing that straight right easier, and they both tried to attack him. They must've saw the Phillips fight and thought they could do that too! I guess they bith left there chins at home:yep Anyway Floyd would let Zoo come to him, and he would counter most of the fight, but as it went on he'd become more aggressive. Floyd has an awesome body attack that gets looked pass and I think he would affectively get to Zoo's body throughout the course of the fight and eventually make him slow to the point where he could land at will. Floyd's always cautious and aware even when aggressive so I don't think Zoo straight right will land, and even if, and when it did it won't be like it was against Mitchell and Judah. I wish ppl would stop using them as reason why Zoo could stop Floyd. There chins combined aren't half of what Floyds chin is:nono Ppl underestimate Floyd's power at 140lbs. He could crack, and Zoo was would feel his punches early and often! The chances are greater that Floyd hurts Zoo than they are that Zoo hurts because of Floyds offensive abilities and more importantly defensive ability, and Zoo's lack there off in the latter's dept. Floyd is very good at dictating the flow, and pace of the fight. The only thing Zoo had over Floyd was power. You can't even call him(Zoo) aggressive which would help, but in all seriousness wouldn't be enough! Ppl always say Floyd will be gotten to eventually during a fight against a guy w/good power, but it hasn't happened much, meaning when it did happen Floyd was still there. He doesn't fold or lose his composure! He's been there w/some very big hitters, and I don't think Zoo is some exception because of what he did to Judah, and Mitchell. Sry folks,...Zoo's not gonna time Floyd, and Floyd doesn't pull straight back like Judah so that opening won't be there! Floyd wasn't just faster, but he was much much faster than Zoo. IMO the only close rds will be the feeling out rds, and maybe a rd later for Zoo, but Floyd takes this one w/it possible getting ugly down the stretch!
'Floyd has an awesome body attack that gets looked pass and I think he would affectively get to Zoo's body throughout the course of the fight and eventually make him slow to the point where he could land at will.' You've already lost credibility with this comment. Could you find me a fight across the entire career of Tszyu's where he was bothered or slowed down by body punches? Hatton smashed his body repeatedly and I never saw Tszyu flinch from the bodyshots even in that fight. Hatton supposedly broke Castillo's ribs not long after. Floyd does not have the power to stop Tszyu. You have to be kidding. Tszyu's chin was damn solid. He took some huge shots throughout his career and in most instances, didn't take many steps backwards.
You Idiot!!! The Hatton fight was a prime example, although he did hit Zoo w/a hard low blow Zoo slowed down regardless! Zoo isn't supperman, well maybe to you he is, but not to me! Anyone w/a brain and two eyes know Floyd goes to the body well, and is very affective throughout a fight! :hi:
To the ball gargleing pair of clown shoes that is Unbeatablefloyd this thread can't be that stupid. All boxing fans with exception of yourself seem to think otherwise. Your a ***** and so is Floyd. So get back to waxing your dogs carrot before it's time to catch the bus for school. Peace
