tszyu is overrated but he destroys cotto... hits too hard and too accurate. I can see cotto getting good shots in though.
i have to go with tzyu. cotto's prime was 147. at 147 the cotto that fought mosley, judah and quintanna would be a whole different animal
Cotto was more vulnerable at 140. Weaker at the weight. He was taking away his physical strength trying to be a JrWW. Fighters that are fighting at a lower weight class than their body can handle is very bad. It leaves you weak. Cotto was almost knocked out a couple of times at 140. Peak Tszyu would win. Although there was a moment in his prime with Phillips that he basically abandoned his boxing ability. Now place Cotto at a stronger weight, 147-154, no catchweights...and yeah...it is a better debate for a fight.
He isn't feather-fisted. Decent pop. Just not known as a "power-puncher." He had Mayweather hurt to. How? Corley was sneaky with his punches. The punch that you don't see is the punch that gets you hurt. And if you can connect right on the chin or on the temple...anybody can get staggered. With Cotto, for me, it wasn't just that he got stunned and hurt but his legs looked weak. I always look at how strong the legs are.
Early on he was still slick. But something did happen. He Became more stationary. Odd. It's like someone forgot to oil his joints.
i think he fell in love with his power. happened to a lot of fighters. i remeber freddy roach said he also fell in love with his power although i don't think he was ever the boxer tyzu is.
Yeah. He was more commited to it. Power = KO's = Excitement = Popularity = $$$$$$$$$ this is the fight right before the title. Tszyu still had those boxing skills..nice movement...speed...combinations...but he was really going for the destruction of Sanchez to impress the crowd. That's what being a pro tends to be about. You just don't want to lose what made you special though. It's still about winning. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4O_r5U1hzA[/ame]
