kostya tszyu vs pernell whitaker

gee Whitaker might not even have to get out of first gear to beat the fuk out of Tszyu.

Tszyu is an ATG but Whitaker's style is all wrong for him, though I do expect Tszyu to give Whitaker a good fight while it lasts.

ATG is a bit too much I don't think that he is top 100 ATG

 

I really like KT, but Sweet Pea was on another level.

 

H2h Pea would beat Tszyu but he would struggle big time. Tszyu was robotic, but he was very strong very good with timing his punches and had a check left hook before Floyd was using it. Pea would outbox him on a majority decision, but wouldn't surprise me if Tszyu dropped him with the right hand, but it wouldnt land as cleanly as the way it landed on Judah. A wounded Whitaker is the most vicious Whitaker and even tho he wasnt the biggest puncher he punches were going to land. He would of been close to stopping Tszyu. I don't think Pea does what Vince Philips did tho Tszyu wouldn't underestimate Pea like he did Philips. Whitaker SDor MD12 Tszyu

 

Tszyu's straight right hand and southpaws mix pretty good for Kostya.

Both fighters were outstanding amatuer boxers with Pea an Olympic gold medalist and Tsyzyu a world champion.

Whitaker is a slippery sterling defensive wizard, and while he may well have outpointed Tszyu - To suggest he "beats the **** out of Kostya" is overstating his power which was never really vaunted - he only had 17 ko's in his 40 wins - I doubt he stops Tszyu in any fantasy fight match up, he only has 4 ko's over 135.

 

I dont know, I think Pea gets him on points but would be a good fight.
Tszyu would be finding his range a lot, might get a few flash knock downs in the middle of the fight, each round is competitive buy Pea lands more clean shots in most rounds and takes it.

 

I think a Young Tszyu would actually do better than a prime Tszyu due to styles, a young Tszyu was very quick and had a great defense and which he didnt bother to use when he got older, he went into the mentality he could just blast ppl out which probably made him fall short of how great he could of been.

Tszyu had the tools to be better than DLH, Mosley and a lot ATG's but fell too much in love with his power and chin.

 

WHO VOTED FOR ZU . . .! you should have made this poll public:bart . . . People vote with their hearts not their heads otherwise. Pernell EASILY takes this one. Thats not to say Zu was no good but in Sweet pea you are talking top 10-15 ATG, ZU is lucky to make top 15 @140. Kostya is good but Whitaker is much, much, MUCH better:deal

 

I can't believe 25% of the board thinks Tsyzu could beat Sweet Pea

 

kostya is highly underrated, he's a great chance against anyone.
