I guess it's a little hard to gauge since Mosley never fought @ 140, but he looked spectacular in most of his fights @ 147 pre-Forrest, saying he was more comfortable at the weight. He was big at 135, but I wouldn't say he had to jump two divisions because of the weight problems. I think he would've performed fine at 140.

Tszyu had underrated hand speed as he was actually pretty quick of hand in the mid-late 90s, but still, he's definitely slower of hand than Mosley. I think he'd land some very good right hands and jabs as well. Luckily for Mosley, he has a very good chin. While Mosley could get frustrated and discouraged when being outboxed, which I think Tszyu would do in spots, I don't think this discouragement will necessarily happen here, because Mosley will get his offense going. Tszyu's defense was alright, nothing that special, and Mosley would land with some frequency and get his offense going.

Tszyu was very good at timing speedsters, but Mosley is levels above guys like Judah and Mitchell. I think this is a very good fight, and I'll go with Mosley to emerge with a close, hard-fought decision win.

Mosley by KO at 140. Kostya could never deal with speed or pressure. Shane had both.

You made a statement about Tszyu's ability to deal with speed and pressure. It was a broad statement that wasn't specific to Mosely, so I gave you two broad examples.

Yes I saw the first round.
    I also saw the second.

with balco shane mosley, without balco shane mosley. Never quite understood why kostya Tszyu was so highly regarded. Very nice puncher yes, good at judging the range yes, but the best ever at 140lbs? please??? Would love to see Aaron Pryor vs Kostya Tszyu...........so who wins?

Id like to have seen this fight... one thing Tszyu never concentrated on was hand speed. It was not his concern whilst boxing..... He never had to display himself in a flashy, flicking, hit and not be hit fashion, as he was a total technician. Zab found that out....
Tszyu was willing to be hit in order to fathom the abilities of any fighter, especially during his late 20s, early 30s.. He was totally in control of most opponent through his abilities of focus and anticipation. Antone who has an interest in the SCIENCE of the ART of BOXING should take a look at the performance of Tszyu vs V.Forrest at the world amatuer titles in Sydney..
Some fighters rely on hand speed to gain their confidence, where as Tszyu relyied on his on mind control and thought process to analise the fighter in quick fashion, and ultimately destroy the fighter.
At 140 lbs, Mosely would have been in a match with an opponent who allowed him to play his own game, and I believe Tszyu would have countered accordingly. He had the best right hand at his weight in the game, during his era.

    Shane is too durable.

Sure, KT would land on Mosely. KT's skill as a counter puncher was astounding, but KT kept a lot of fighters defensive and honest due to his accurate punching and good power.. The thing is, KT was never very durable himself which is a fatal flaw when fighting a prime Mosely unless you are Vernon Forrest.

Not much debate as to what type of fighter Mosely is, and has been his entire career. He is a speedy fighter, with a great chin, and power. Every time Mosely got tagged, his anger would kick in and he would do everything in his power to get you back, rather than get scared and fight defensively. KT didn't deal with this very well and would have eventually been worn down by the faster fighter who was more durable and willing to trade. KT didn't have the defensive skill nor height/reach advantage to keep Shane off balance.

Unfortunately, power never kept Shane honest.

How does Tszyu destroy Shane with his right hand, when Oscars left hook didn't even make Shane blink? It took Vernon Forrests best right cross to blast Shane, and even then he recovered and stubbournly asked for more.

Negative thats your interpretation of what i said. Considering the thread title says Shane vs Kostya i think its quite apparent that i was referring to Shanes speed pressure punch and durability which were all better than Kostya`s.
