At 140 nobody hit harder than Tszyu mate. I like Shane at a higher weight but he’s exposed at 140 against somebody like Kostya who would be fighting at his natural size. Vernon Forrest beat Sugar Shane very easily on two occasions. Tszyu made Forrest look like a C-grader in the clip above. I know styles make fights but at 140 there’s maybe only 3 or 4 guys in history that beat (prime) Tszyu and I doubt Mosley is one of them. At 147 it’s a completely different ballgame though. Mosley probably outguns him there.
You do know that Shane was the lightweight champion of the world and defended that title eight times. That's five pounds under 140. I like Tszyu and think he had one of the greatest straight right hands in boxing but Shane's speed and combination punching would be too much for him not to mention Shane had a hell of a great chin.
Who would I back in a fight between a guy who never did anything at 140 pounds and one who only fought at 140 pounds and owned it? Seriously?
Mate, he beat Phillip Holliday by decision. Holliday lasts about as long as a snowflake in summer against Kostya Tszyu at 140. Mosley beating that guy for his strap at 135 isn’t the massive achievement you think it is. Nor are his few defences against some very average competition at 135. Shane had his chin cracked and cracked well by Forrest. The same Forrest that was treated like a toy by Tszyu. At 140 Tszyu absolutely ragdolls Mosley.
I completely disagree. Nobody at 140 ragdolls Mosley. Hell, he fought all the way up to 154 and Nobody ever "ragdolled" him. Tzysu doesn't have half the resume Shane does, not even close. You keep bringing up loses to Vernon Forrest but Shane only was stopped once in his career and that was very late in his career and fighting way above his natural weight. Vince Phillips best the breaks off of a prime Tzysu. Tzysu's best wins are Zab Judah and maybe Shamba Mitchell, Shane Mosley beat Oscar, Margarito and Vargas twice. All three of those guys were stronger than Tzysu.
Are you stupid mate? Mosley doesn’t have the strength or power at 140 that he does at 154. Hell, he went life and death with Phillip Holliday at 135. Tszyu was a natural 140 fighter and unified the straps there. Mosley would probably beat him at 147 and certainly at 154 but he gers brutalised at Tszyu’s natural weight of 140. With that, I’m done. Insert last word below.
So you want to throw around insults you little *****. Mosley won belts in three weight classes, Tszyu won only at 140. Shane was pound for pound the number one fighter in the world in 2000 which is something Tszyu never came close to. You must be Russian, Australian or ***** for Koysta to think he is even remotely better. **** you and the horse that you ****ed.
Shawn Porter beat Usyk in the Ams. Does that mean, Porter could beat Anthony Joshua and Fury? Of course not. Amateurs mean nothing in the pros. Different scoring, only 3 rounds. Also, styles make fights. Perhaps Tszyu knew how to fight taller guys better than Mosley. Doesn't mean he can fold Mosley.
Only morons quote P4P lists. Mosley was P4P number one when Forrest sat him on his arse repeatedly. And FWIW, and because you’re just flat out ignorant, Kostya Tszyu was P4P number 3 at one point…so to say he never came close just shows how uneducated you are. And now onto ignore you go. Adios chump.
Aww, are you quiting *****. I can go on forever on this topic. Mosely was a far more accomplished fighter. I actually like Tzysu a lot but he is nowhere near Mosley. You're argument about Mosley not have the strength at 140 makes zero sense considering he was a world champion at 135 and 154. He proved he could fight at any weightclass unlike Tzysu. You are putting me on ignore becasue you can't win this argument. I'm not a ****ing mathematician, but there is a difference between being p4p number one vs number three.
At 140, I think Tszyu figures out Shane and wins. Despite his "Sugar" moniker, Mosley was more of a fast brawler. He has the speed and the combo punching, but it was more overwhelming than tactical. Tszyu gets the timing right and probably puts Shane down.
And Cool Vince was one of them? A guy who was good, but nothing really special? It's not just who be beat, it's how he beat them. You think any elite LW would have done better than KO al of them? And why do you keep going back to "Tszyu beat Forrest, Forrest beat Shane...Tszyu beats Shane then". Everyone knows the triangle theory doesn't work in boxing, yet you've used it twice already.
This would be a great fight, very exciting fast-paced action with lots of heavy artillery coming from both sides. I picture the fight being fairly even up until around the 6th or 7th round, which is when KT would start to slow down from Shane's body assault, particularly the left hook. Shane begins to mix the headshots in more frequently and by round 10 or 11 Tszyu is on his knees taking the 10 count TKO.
