i like tszyu as much as the next bloke, he's the reason i got into boxing but i agree with francis, has a good resume, not great. does anyone think he could have beaten De La Hoya, Mosley or Trinidad?

 

Trinidad maybe, Oscar and Shane would have been odds on favorites and been tough for him to get over, but he surely was in their league. To say he doesn't have a great resume, is silly, as some of those fighters he beat where at the top of their game and considered the best at in that weight at that time, the only one on his resume that disappoints me is JCC, I think to claim that victory he should have fought Chavez a good couple of years earlier.

 

I think those would have been great fights, could go either way

 

look kostya wld of beat the **** out of oscar & wld have been a good chance against either sugar or felix.

 

I can't understand why anyone would try to pull down Kostya Tszyu. He's probably ours and Russia's greatest ever fighter.

 

I think Oscar & Shane beat Tszyu at 140 and at 147 Tito stops him.

No one is saying that he wasn't an excellent fighter and didn't deserve to be in the HOF. I'm just stating that his resume is NOT great. The same as Joe Calzaghe's resume is NOT great. As i have said both were excellent fighters.

 

Tszyu fought and beat everyone at his own weight, maybe he should of ventured to 147 for mega fights, way i look at it if you could keep tszyu at his prime at 140 today he'd still massacre everything in the division today.

 

He definitely should have tried to secure fights with Oscar, Tito, Shane. Those 3 guys seemed to fight superstars around their weight throughout their career but Tszyu didn't. It is only 7 pounds aswell. Imo far to much is made of moving just a meagre 7 pounds or so. If you are an excellent fighter at 140 then you still should be extremely good at 147.

 

KTs showtime contract held him back a bit, was Oscar a HBO boy back then?..Showtime would only let him select either JJL or Gatti for the Oz fight, Gatti didn't want a part of it so it was JJL.

He wanted the Floyd fight instead of Hatton even went to USA to try and get Showtime and HBO to work together and get it on.

 

styles wise his best shot would be against tito, but tito may have been to big. Hoya would have been close but i would favour Oscar. Shane would have been all wrong for him styes wise. i think Txzyu would have butchered Gatti though. no disrespect to Arturo, Tszyu just would have been to strong and accurate

 

He called out oscar lots of times he did not want a bar of kostya oscar & he seen how good kostya was from there amatuer days so mate i think it was oscar ducking kostya he wld have beaten oscar at 140. kostya called him out before he had his first lose & after he became champ again. so oscar had lots of chances to fight him. with mosely & trinadad wld have been 50/50 even money fight.

yeah oscar did good against gonalez kostya destroyed him? styles make fights oscar wld of traded with him & got ktfo.
