I know where you are coming from, but if Lewis Tyson could be made then im sure Tszyu Mayweather could be. Tszyu said numerous times he was willing to face Mayweather, i think i can recall only once when i heard the name Tszyu come out of Mayweathers. Im not saying Floyd was scared of him, just that he could pick up a better wage against a c level opponent in Gatti. Money comes before history for some people:twisted:
Why do people bring up Zab and compare him to Floyd? Zoo ko'ed a LEFTY that's open for a straight right hand. Floyd is a righty. Floyd is also bigger, better reach and quite possibly stronger than Zoo (as noted in both fighters encounter with Hatton). Too much fantasy surrounding what Zoo woulda and coulda done. He's fought no truly great fighters, but appears to be regarded as an incredible fighter based on nothing more than making Zab do a little dancing. I say Floyd KO's him late in the fight. Zoo would be taking too many shots to the head and body. His much lauded over timing will net him very little against Floyd's superior speed, skill and footwork.
There's a huge difference between Lewis-Tyson and Mayweather-Tszyu. I care little about who says what in interviews and who they want to fight, it doesn't really mean much at all. Tszyu made huge dollars against Hatton, and Mayweather made big dollars for fighting that Jersey area punching bag. Business as usual.
Who are the truly great fighters that Floyd has fought??? Floyd beat an old Oscar by split decision may i add. Floyd has some very good wins under his belt, but great?
Yes there is.....two massive ego's in Lewis and Tyson. Tszyu has fought over the world so he wouldnt be bothered about home advantage or aything like that. The fight could have been made. Why has Cotto Mayweather not been made?? In one word MAYWEATHER. Mayweather could of made a fight with Tszyu just like he could have made a fight with Cotto.
There's much more incentive for rival networks to put together Lewis and Tyson than Mayweather and Tszyu. How often do exclusive Showtime fighters and exclusive HBO fighters fight each other? Lewis and Tyson generated like $120 million in PPV. That fight took a long time to materialize because of the network rivalry. By comparison, who are Tszyu and Mayweather? Mayweather had never even headlined a PPV before, and his ticket sales were decent at best. Tszyu was never a big draw in the states either, his numbers for Tackie for instance were dreadful. I'm sure Tszyu wouldn't have minded at all, but the fighter only has so much say in it when there are larger factors in play. And with Mayweather-Cotto, I blame numerous factors. Mayweather, Arum, Schaefer, De La Hoya, Cotto, etc....
Do you believe Floyd's resume isn't better than Tszyu's? As for his CLEAR victory over Oscar... did you see the fight? Nearly all of the actual meaningful blows can from Mayweather.
You've skipped my question by answering it with a question. Who are the great fighters that Mayweather has beaten? And about Oscar, DLH controlled Mayweather with his jab but let it go and ran out of steam. 6 punches a round don't win you the round. I had Floyd winning by 1 round.
I know where you are coming from but for us boxing fans it would have been number 1 and 2 P4P fighting each other. Granted neither fighter has the pulling power of a Tyson but it just goes to show the lack of fire in alot of "top" fighters. I do blame Mayweather for the fight not materialising, because he couldnt call himself the man until he beat the man in Tszyu. And i do think Floyd could have made the match if necesary.
As much as I like to mess with Floyd Fan's and always put him down to get the fan's pissed off at me, I really don't see Floyd having any trouble whatsoever Vs. Kotsya's style. It would have been a very dull fight, with both men wanting to take the counterpunching role. But in the end, PBF's potshot's and faster hands will pull out a UD. IMO. Floyd can fight when he want's too. His fight with Chico was one of my fav Mayweather fight's.
I would say that Floyd hasn't beaten any truly great (as in seriously high profile fighters) fighter during his career in their primes. But honestly, what makes Tszyu such a great fighter? Based on what wins does his career stand high on?
