Kostya vs mayweather

Back when they were both fighting and winning titles i would have said Kostya, but after watching more of Mayweather in the late 2000's i would say PBF by UD after getting wobbled once or twice during the fight.

 

Hate to say it, but I think the late 2000s version of Floyd may have had a bit too much polish for Kostya. But by then he was fighting a division higher than Kostya too. Floyd would use his significant reach to advantage and keep Kostya away while he piled up points. But it would have been one hell of a fight :good

 

Mayweather wins all day every day at any point in their careers.

 

I would pick Mayweather.
Defence: Mayweather.
Chins: Mayweather.
Power: Nothing in it
Skill: Mayweather, Although KT was way under rated as a technical boxer, but most fights he backed his chin together with his genuine KO power.

There is no right or wrong pick IMO. If KT lands early like Mosley did against Mayweather then KT walks away with a KO win. BUT..... do i think Mayweather gets stopped by Phillips...... no way.

 

dude i think KT had better power than PBF... Floyd has good power from speed and angles but if they both threw a straight right hand i would suspect KT to register slightly more power from his fantastic technique and natural strength

 

not heaps more power, different power is probably the best way to say it

Mayweathers power comes from speed, different angles and the fact he hits you with punches you dont see coming.... they are the ones that hurt the most

Watch how he dropped Hatton the first time, sure as hell wasnt from just blunt force trauma like Kostya did with Mitchell or Zab :good

 

Wont argue with that point. My point is they both had the ability to change the course of a fight with one punch. Thats why i said nothing in it.

 

Its always going to be hard picking against an undefeated fighter with a 42-0 record such has Floyd but Kostya in his prime had great boxing skills + fantastic power. His loss to Phillips was more than just coming up against someone who had his number. He had serious issues with Mordey which certainly wouldn't of aided his mental side of things going into a fight. The Kostya that took on & koed Zab would of given Floyd one hellavu fight I'm certain.
