Kostya vs mayweather

Kostya had lost to Hatton (and in fact never fought again) prior to Mayweather beating Gatti.

My point was, and it still holds, that if Mayweather called Kostya out at that point in time, Kostya was not only shot, he never fought again.

It doesnt really matter to me and heres why.

The fight would have never happened no matter what at anytime of there careers.

They were not prepared to merge at any time for any fight i recall.

Also i seen a released Interview were Floyd said he wouldnt fight Tszyu until he was as Old as Roger was when Tszyu fought him.

This actually exists this interview its hard to find.
Mayweather and Roger are asked if he will fight Tszyu.

Floyd responded when Tszyu gets as old as Roger when he was young and Fought my Uncle.

Roger fought Tszyu at age 34.
When Mayweather made this Interview and statement Tszyu was already 34 years old.

That gave me and some real hardcore fans of the sport enough information that Mayweather Picks and Chooses his fights very carefully.
This so called Interview took place arounf the time of the Brussels fight.

 

As stated earlier in the thread, I'd favour a prime Mayweather over a prime Kostya.

I believe and i feel most will not agree with my view.

A Prime Kostya Tszyu was never a easy fight not even for the great Foyd Mayweather.

The problem most dont get or see is this.

Tszyu was a Amateur Champ but not just any amateur Champ a ****ing Great one.
So he knew how to Box.
Also he was probably the hardest Punching Little guy from 135 to 147 even which posed problems for anyone. Meaning he could hurt any fighter around this weight with one single shot.

His Timing and Cutting off of the Ring was among the elite at his Prime.

But the biggest thing that most Boxing Fans that say he was Overrated and this what pisses me off with the casual fan.
For Boxers he was major Risk for not much reward for other big stars.
Because he could in fact change your whole career as a fighter with One solid punch.
Meaning you could go from a Up and Coming Superstar in the making to a Head Case (i.e Judah). But Judah was not the only man to follow the wrath of a Tszyu fight.
I remember Gonzalez never being the same.
Bergman was never the same.
Hurtado who at the time was i rmember a awesome fighter was never the same.

I feel ive read alot on this subject and i feel it changed for Tszyu after the Gonzalez fight.
Everyone in the Boxing game who seen that fight knew Gonzlaez had never even hit the Canvas before let alone been smashed around the ring like a Rag Doll. Even Dela Hoya who Outpointed Gonzalez would have been thinking ****.
Like i said after that fight it was Very High Risk to Fight Tszyu for not much reward.

 

Kostya was great, PBF is greater.

Simply cause it implies a gulf in class between the two that doesn't exist. What if the Floyd from the first Castillo fight met the best version of Tszyu? Floyd only just got past a fading De La Hoya, how would that have gone prime for prime?

 

Stupid would be claiming Hatton was shot when he fought Mayweather, it was only 2 yrs after he gave KT a hiding.

Prior to Hatton fighting Mayweather he had defeated Carlos Maussa, Luis Collazo, Juan Urango and knocked out Jose Luis Castillo in 4 rounds which was his last bout before fighting Mayweather. I am struggling to understand how you feel or see Hatton at this stage of his career as being LEFTOVERS.

HE posted the link which proves beyond doubt that Mayweather called out KT way before he fought Gatti or Hatton. Fact is Kostya was a VERY greedy person, the ONLY reason he even fought Hatton was because the money was to good to knock back, they didnt even have Hatton in their sights and when i interviewed JL with Tim & AL, JL did not think Hatton was even in the same league as KT.

KT thought he was better than he actually was, he wasnt training the same anymore, he got lazy and soft. He enjoyed his new life here in AUS and if he was going to get off his bum it had to be for a wad of cash, his motivation turned from being the best fighter in the world to making as much money as he could at the cost of his career.

He wouldnt even do the right thing by his fans and tell them he was retired and still has not done so to this day, he claims he is still waiting for a big mega fight to pull him out of retirment and he would fight Mayweather... what a joke, imagine all the sht people would now give Mayweather for fighting KT.

Look at what Mayweather did to Hatton, Bullies do not bother Mayweather, this is a sport of boxing, not bullys hit as hard as you can sport lol, KT would have been outboxed big time and imho never wanted to fight Mayweather, he got lucky with ZAB and had he not done so was on his way to getting one hell of a schooling. I recall watching the ZAB fight and KT was basicly owned in the first round, looked like it was going to be an easy night in the office for ZAB then KT caught him with a lucky punch.

Now lets compare ZAB to Mayweather. Imagine what Mayweather would have done to KT if ZAB could own him for one round.

imo KT wouldnt give ZAB a rematch because he was to good in round 1, ZAB slowed down in round 2, had he fought the same from round 1 to round 12 KT wouldnt have stood a chance. He slowed down in round 2 beliving that he was rushing himself in round 1, he was a bit hyped, the fight was huge and worth quite a bit of money to the both of them. Zab wanted the rematch and if KT was so confident why didnt he oblige?

Did Mayweather get dominated in any round against ZAB?

And KT said in his book he wouldnt rematch Zab because some of the sh*t he was saying oin the lead up to the bout. He didnt deserve another pay day on the back of Kostya, and he didnt deserve another shot at the titles when he was nothing but disrespectfull.

I loved the part when KT asked Zab about his kids at the press conference and he frooze up
