Tim Tsyzu, I trained at the same gym as him for about a month when I was posted to Sydney and lived at Arncliffe, only said a few words to each other here and there but he's a good kid, very sharp in sparring, though this was some years back when he was younger. He's 21 now, he'll be coming in with an am record of 32-1. Should be good to see how it goes
not sure how the amateurs are in the rest of the world but the level of corruption in melbourne is pretty bad. whenever im there watching the AMs there is atleast 2 or 3 robberys out of 19 fights, a certain boxing club who shall remain nameless are often on the recieving end of the gifts simply because they sponsor and hold the events. a 32-1 record in the amateurs in australia iv never even heard of simply because you always get robbed somewhere along the way. hopefully his wins are legit and he is not just being pushed because of his fathers name. its about time we had an aussie boxing star tho
Funny story, when I fought in the ams, I was fighting in QLD close to state of origin time, against a qld fighter as a NSW fighter. I was fighting this guy and had been giving him trouble, then in the second round I went to the body and head and landed about 4 clean punches, two thudding ones to his chin and ear and a few more glancing ones, had him backed in the corner, he comes back with a sneaky jab, it was clean and snapped my head back, but nothing bad. The ref is suddenly on me giving me a standing 8 count??? Im fine to continue, we box the rest of the round even. Come next round I've got him bullied in the corner again and it's basically an exact repeat. I get a standing 8 count again. My parents still have the footage and I watched it a fair few times, I don't look hurt, I wasn't hurt I know that personally, because until the ref got in there I'd been moving back in on him and I'd landed a lot more big shots on him beforehand. Lost the fight on pts. So yeah I've seen a bit of dodgy in the AMS in Aus haha. Part of me wonders if it was state of origin that influenced it
