Yeah guys, you inspired me to make this thread cause of next week's low key fights. I bring up the next big fights in boxing to happen on Feb. 7: Kotelnik vs. Maidana for the WBA jr. welterweight strap and Darchinyan vs. Arce for THE (cause Montiel goes up, I believe) super featherweight championship. IMO Kotelnik will figure out Maidana (both of them I've seen live at ringside and on TV several times and I don't think that Maidana can adapt to the Ukraine his style b/c he's even more wild and not that technically skilled as even Valero) by about the 5th round and than will put a beating on him for a final round retirement in the final stanza. Maidana is a actually a raw fighter how hasn't improved technically but makes up for that with his big punching power. Still his last fight was a pain in the ass to see (especially from ringside) were he used pretty dirty moves including kidney punches. Plus he's really got no good handspeed and when you match him with a ring-savy guy WITH handspeed and good TECHNIQUE like Kotelnik you nearly know the outcome for sure. This might really make up for an ass-wooping. In the other fight I see Darchinyan winning via points decision cause he got more handspeed than Arce. Arce can't suprise Darchinyan with anything he got and therefore will get beaten to the punch. As both got good chins (And Darchinyan's loss was due to a blinding countershot - a thing that Arce isn't able to do) there won't be a knockout victory for either side. That's it, come and join the party with your predictions...:good
Kotelnik/maidana don't interest me much. Im looking forward to Kid diamond/Antonio demarco which is an even fight. Showtime card is going to be the ****.
I pick the Armenian by point decision. Kotelnik will probably win a point decision, too. However,he will probably have some rocky moments during his encounter with Maidana.
