Great post. The bitching is ridiculous. Amazing performance by Ward, leading to that big right and adept follow-up attack. IT WASN"T ABOUT ANY LOW BLOW.
Sergey is getting up there in age. He should probably reassess his career at this point considering he looks like a 6 round fighter these days.
The Same things they say about GGG to he cant be hurt , was also said about Kovalev Ward cant Hurt him, he will destroy Ward look what happend. KO and Ward hurt him bad made him do the chicken dance and back the hell up real bad .
Kov deserved to continue if there was no standing 8 count, but he was done imo. His power gone and he was weak and hurting. Ward would've finished him the next round. That was a hard vicious right hand by Ward and Kov was hurt badly and the bodyshots that you called low weeent as low as you thought they were if you watch the replay in super slow mo.
I agree with this. The ref did a terrible job and he did no favours to Andre, who had Kovalev by the balls, so to say. At least the right man won. Also Vic Draculich was pathethic last night.
I don't necessarily think Kovalev was done. He had a close round 7, and there wasn't much left in round 8, he could have easily seen it out. Idk if wards shots were hitting the cup, but if they were it's definitely enough to hurt when it gets rammed into your balls from experience lol. I mean, if you've ever had a mate flick your balls for a joke, it ****ing sucks. It's a win, but not a good win IMO, it didn't 'seal the deal'. It was a close close fight that I had Kovalev slightly ahead in (3-2 Kova, 2 even). What if Ward was punching himself out, what if Kovalev came out strong the next round. He easily has game changing power with 3 more rounds to turn it around, considering he wasn't far behind on the two judges cards, and ahead on the other. Idk, it didn't answer enough for me because the low blows make you ask if the illegal shots were a deciding factor in Kovalev losing his energy also. But in the end it's boxing. **** happens all the time. Either make a complaint and see if they find evidence to overturn it, or accept the loss. Until then it's just gonna be circular arguing from one side to the other, people may as well just copy paste their opinions from one thread to another lol.
I agree i think Krusher had some chance of surviviing round 8. Hell of a turnaround if he'd pulled it off.
Blizzy I am not Kovalev's fan, I think GGG is way better than Kovalev. Kovalev's career probably is finished, there are better fighters coming. In regards of a fight, that fight should have waived doubts about the first fight. But it didn't. Why Ward was using low blows? Why does he always get away with his dirty tactics? He is talented but he will not receive full credit until he stops fighting dirty.
Where you think that Ward was landing low I didn't. To me the fight waived all doubts. Now Kov should get a crack at Stevenson if Ward moves up.
That's unfortunately bias when you don't see it low. In regards of Stevens, it makes sense, but still Kovalev career is done most probably. It's hard to recover from such controversial decisions and basically he is limited in options as better fighters are coming.
I didn't see low blows. I saw belt line blows and the ref told each guy before the fight that their belt line was legal if punches landed there.
I know you that you are objective somewhere deep in your soul in regards to low blows, but you will deny them
So you are saying that the last punch did not land on the capital B that was well below the belt line? That is your position?
