I could accept 7-5 kov however I've never agreed with Harold, Doug or Rafael so not sure how that helps your argument with those that actually know the sport

lol@the sore arses in here. One Kovalev punch doesn't count for three. Sure he was the harder puncher, but if the opponent isn't visibly hurt or staggered you score them for what they are, scoring punches, of which, Ward landed more in more rounds. Nobody told Kovalev to disregard his corner and keep wrastlin in the second half of the fight. He wasn't scoring while he was wrastlin, and carrying Ward across the ring lol.

I had Ward 116-110 or 115-112. When I rewatch it, I'll probably have 115-112 for Ward. Kovalev was getting outworked in most rounds. Ward did great body work, jab to the body, rights to the body, hooks to the body. Most of you arse hurt Kovalev fans only think a punch count if it's to the head. What has to burn, is that this was Kovalev's fight to lose. He established from the start that Ward couldn't box him. Kovalev's footwork was too good, he covered too much distance, and controlled the distance well. His reach advantage was insane, and all Kovalev had to do was keep boxing from the outside with that long jab, and run Ward into another right hand. Did Kovalev do that? No. He decided that he wanted to rough Ward up on the inside, and outmuscle him. Refusing to follow his coaches instructions. Ward shouldn't have made it past the 5th round.

I guess a lot of right hand kovalev landed on the second half of the fight counts for nothing. This is a bad decision. Don't try to fool others.

Saying that full credit to Ward for courageous performance. But he didn't win.

I had 9 rounds to 3 for Kovalev and gave Ward a extra close round just cause totaling 4 rnds to 8 in favor of Kovalev and he still lost decisively , adding the knock down.

Im pretty sure behind close doors when Ward is by himself and he watches the entire fight hes going to say " Dam I lost this one,i better be prepared better for the rematch" ! Hes going to at least think that because it doesn't take a fighter to see this ,it takes logical thinking and looking at the fight itself and what did and didn't happen in the fight.

And yes, the true score card would be either 9 to 3 rounds or 8 to 4 in favor of Kovalev. That is knowing how to score a fight.

I like both guys and was totally unbiased going into the fight. I was rooting hard for Ward when it looked like Kov was gonna steamroll him after that knockdown and was cheering him back into the fight. But when the scorecards were read I thought it was a disgrace - particularly after the Roc Nation gift in the fight prior to it.

I had it 8-4 to Kov realistically, but 7-5 I could agree with too as I was viewing Ward favourably due to the nature of the comeback. 6-6 would have been totally outlandish in my mind. But 7-5 Ward!? Just no way - you would have to be trying to give Ward rounds to view it either 6-6 or 7-5 Ward.

Sorry, just being as honest as I can be. Instead of deserved glory for both men (winner and loser in a great, close fight) they were both robbed of their glory due to boxing politics.

I didn't have Kovalev's balls in my mouth gargling like you did while the fight was going on. If you had of removed his crotch from your face you would have seen what was actually happening in the fight, which was Ward outworking him down the stretch while Kovalev was hell bent on showing Ward how to properly grapple in a boxing match.
