Do you think they will retire from boxing if they lose?

Kovalev is NOT losing, not convinced he'll lose a round. Ggg could just as easily lose as he could win, that's what happens when 2 highly elite fighters fight.

Kov ward are on different levels, the first fight was enough evidence of that and we all know kovalev will be getting the benefit ward got last time, wide UD or tko very easy to pick the winner

Really it'll be 2/0 kovalev, ward will most likely retire. Depending how bad he loses

To be honest I'm actually thinking of switching my Kov/Ward pick. I had Ward winning by giving him every benefit of the doubt. I'll be honest after the fight finished without scoring it my gut told me Kovalev won, just like my gut told me Jacobs won. That's me being 100% honest. When I re-watched it, I obviously had a bias when scoring it, and was looking for almost everything Ward did. Now Kovalev CLEARLY gassed in the second half. You have to credit Ward for the body shots, but the KD Kovalev got in the second round was actually a downfall for him since I think he expended too much energy after.

If Kovalev manages his energy well this is going to be a way tougher fight for Ward. But I'll sticjk to my pick.

GGG has a lot to lose, so much he may as well retire. He's 35, he won't be the man at MW, he loses he aura of invincibility losing his biggest marketing asset.

Unless he moved up to SMW, but even then he won't be selling as much.

I think his biggest asset is his come forward aggressive style. For a defensive fighter being undefeated is a lot more important. Sluggers always get TV time even after losing that 0

GGG does have more to lose. But even if he manage to lose it will either be a competitive decision or a disputed one. So I do think there is a career after this fight. For the record I pick GGG by decision

I respectfully disagree. GGG is marketed as a unstoppable freak KO artist. There is a plethora of come forward fighters who never get the hype GGG gets, simply because they look beatable or have been beat. What differentiates GGG from the rest of the come forward bawls to the wall fighters is that he is marketed as a feared, unstoppable KO machine. Once that aura is gone, his career will too.

His last free HBO fight pulled 800K viewers. His Only two PPVs didn't even break 170K. So after he loses, what does he have left to offer that is different than any other come forward agreesive fighter? Not even the hardcores will pay 64.99, unless he moves up and takes on a real challenge like Ward.

I look at GGGs marketability like Floyd's, in the sense that these are two fighters who as soon as they lose, their aura of invincibility obviously goes out the window, as does their hype.

IF both lose I'd lose much interest in the sport because id wonder how I misread so much. I fully understand ggg has the fight of his life coming up and losing that fights kind of not surprising but we've seen the talent gap between kovalev and ward and kovalev spent 12 rounds with him.

kovalev almost had it too easy with ward and thought (correctly too) he was way ahead and literally at most being very generous one could give ward 5 rounds, kovalev coasted instead of going after him.

kovalev clearly won rounds 10 and 12 which should had put the fight way out of reach. kovalev, rightly so, feels he got screwed and rounds were somewhat competitive , that fight should not had been close.

he knows how far superior he is and will make sure he wins and wins so big nothing can be miswritten on the cards is to change that fact

ggg v canelo is a pick em fight,
kovalev ward is going to be a full mismatch this time. kovalev isn't losing unless he breaks an ankle, that's all folks

very possible but kovalev will still be considered a great fighter
ggg could become just a hypejob that dominated a very weak division and ducked ward
