God bless the WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman. Who would have thought that the sanctioning bodies would lead the charge against these hostage takers by sending in one man anti-terror squadrons. Forcing unification ftw.

WBC did it for Golovkin when they didn't necessarily have to since he's already a champion in another org and making the Kovalev/Pascal winner mandatory was out of nowhere. Sulaiman is making unifications and improving the sport like he's been talking about although i still hope the full fledged unification tournaments take place at some point.

not like it means much, Cotto will vacate before he fights GGG, Stevenson I'm not sure, he'll probably keep hostage of that belt until they strip him

Even if they vacate it's better then letting them hold on to the title while proclaiming themselves champions and holding up an entire division.

I think only one. Stevenson has nowhere to go when he keeps ducking and has to drop the belt, in wich Kovalev would become undisputed.
Cotto on the other hand can go back to 154 or fight for another 160 strap after.

It does mean something. It means the lineal titles dont get held hostage. And Kova n G will then get to have one more piece to their reign they wouldnt have otherwise.

Its the only time ive seen orgs do any good for the sport is preventing a fighter, promoter, ect from holding the belt hostage in house. Not that it always works out like this but in this case its awesome to see.

Too bad that they had o pay sanctioning fees to get those mandatory positions.
WBC wants active champions. They are doing it for the money. :deal

It means something, at least they make duckers vacate their belts instead of keeping it hostage. They can't force fighters to fight, but at least they are doing what they can to improve the sport, props.

I see you guys believe in the WBC enforcing the mandatories, but I will believe it when I see it, Stiverne was Vitali's mandatory for 2 years and didn't get his title shot until Vittles retired, just saying
