Why not? It's not like he wasn't winning the first fight walking away at the time of the stoppage. Hell, if he managed to have a little better stamina and be slightly better prepared, he could easily go the distance to have the honor of being robbed by Canelo outright this time.

I doubt that it would ever happen.

After he claimed to have suckered his own fans, and mocked them? After being a **** poor sore loser? How about the fact that he cannot be trusted?

How about he so honest that he admitted that, when he didn't have to, means he's far more trustworthy than most boxers.

An honest person would not have gone into a fight saying he was going to fight to win, and then when he loses mock his fans and say they're idiots because he never had the belief he could win.

    Yeah very honest.

The only person he was lying to was himself. If he didn't think he could win, he wouldn't have taken the fight and boxed a damn near perfect fight up until the stoppage now would he? He was merely making an excuse for himself, one that in retrospect, was a quite valid one.

Is he lying to himself when he says he will beat Canelo this time? If he loses again and then says he's just old, will he be honest? I guess Kovalev is a stand up dude and can't do no wrong eh?

Kovalev would deserve a rematch that he has enough time to prepare for and no bull**** rehydration clause. That is not going to happen obviously.

He's more of a stand up dude that the rat fink that you adore so much. He had a chance to make a career high amount of money and took it. Fearing the worst and hoping for the best, well the worst came to pass, so he used the ready made excuse that was already laid out for him by countless boxing forum denizens the world over, and the reason why they all picked Canelo to start with. Wow, what a sin, he's making excuses for himself. Like every other ****ing boxer on the planet.

He shouldn't have said what he said, he should have taken a different route, like... hey I wasn't expecting much, but goddamn, I almost pulled it off with a **** poor training camp and no time to prepare. Canelo really lucked out.

    Kovalev is a sore loser.

Loss against Ward- "I was robbed"
Loss in the rematch- "I was low blowed"
Loss to Eleider Alvarez- "I over trained"
Loss to Canelo Alvarez- " I was tired from the Yarde fight"

Like bro, own up and say the better man won.
