This. Marquez would always step on his opponents feet purposely to set them up for his countershots, Mayweather would use his elbows and plenty of other champs would use other kinds of somewhat cheating tactics if the referee and opponent allowed them to get away with it. If the ref doesn’t enforce the rules than the fighter should self enforce within reason such as returning elbows and low blows.

A perfect example is when Kostya Tszyu went low multiple times on Hatton. Hatton didn’t cry to the ref and quit, but instead gave Kostya Tszyu a taste of his own medicine.

Everyone has an excuse when they lose. Nobody forced Chad to fight at 168.

canelo must be brian damaged to think he can face Kov, peraps from 3G's punches?

kov will smash him np, just like i predicted 3g shud have if he wasnt going easy on canelo for fear of hurting the little former WW.

But Kov doesn t possess such kindness.

Doesn't mean Chad wasn't badly drained. And that he wasn't KO'd in sparring.

And it also doesn't change the fact that Ward completely obliterated him.

Yes, a drained and KO'd Dawson. That's why no one thinks it's some amazing victory.

Dawson wasn't ko'ed. He sparred 10 rounds with Miranda the next day and was fine. Excuses, excuses, excuses.

He fought Dawson who was at 175 at 168. Total farce of a fight. Y'all keep forgetting this.

"It's very simple. That day we were prepared for a ten round workout. In the ninth round, Miranda executed something that I've been telling him to do the whole workout - left [hand], right hand, left hook - and he knocked him down. It was devastating for me, because I don't want to see something like that, but it happened. He was hurt. He tried to get up, he went down again, and got up. In fact, I screamed to Rafael Garcia 'come and help him.'"

    — Miguel Diaz (trainer of Dawson)

You conveniently forgot this part of the same article.
"During one of their final sparring sessions, Miranda caught Dawson with a hard three punch combination. Dawson went down hard, says Diaz, but eventually got to his feet. They sparred for ten rounds a day or two later, without incident."
Clearly he wasn't hurt that bad or he certainly wouldn't be putting in 10 rounds a day or 2 later. The simple fact is regardless of how you want to spin it, Ward destroyed Dawson. I love the whole "drained" excuse too. When a fighter someone doesn't like wins, his opponent was "drained", but when it's someone they don't like he's a "weight bully" or "too big". Gotta love boxing fans and their twisted narratives.

Dude... Dawson has no one to blame for his offer to fight at 168 but himself. But that doesn't erase the fact that Dawson was drained moving down after so long at 175. Ward did what he had to do, not fault on his part at all. But it still is what it is.

Agree on your first point although it was a close fight. Your last two points are nothing but delusion and sour grapes.

There is video showing Ward going low immediately before the stoppage. I don't think it's up for debate anymore that the ref very likely dropped the ball on the rematch.
