I disagree. Kovalev made a mistake he's not from America and doesn't really understand that you can't call a black guy a ****** over here and it go over too well. I honestly don't think he's racist if he was there would be no way in hell he'd have a black coach train him and who gets a percentage of his purse. He made a mistake and apologized for it I think everyone else should just move on.

as much as I dislike the scum bag Freddy Roach, I do give credit where it's due, he is a smart and sneaky little scum bag. He know just how to get under peoples skin.

 

that's how I see it Pimp, You know sometimes one might call another person a ****** because of how they act or their foolish behaviors, and not necessarily because of race. In other countries its common to refer to someone you feel is an idiot a ******... You know what I'm saying.

But at the same time there are those that do like to refer to Blacks or any dark skinned people as monkeys. Like that soccer match in Russia where opposing fans started grunting and hollering like monkeys towards a Black player.

But I personally feel that JD Jackson would not be working with a person he felt was racist or anti-black, no matter how good the pay was... there are plenty of fighter that would love to hire someone like Jackson.

 

IMO if you consistently have to keep apologising for someone not actually being a racist. Then they almost certainly are.

And IMO by his actions and words - not the words of his apologists - Kovalev is a racist.

I heard about him calling Stevenson a ******... but I thought he was referring to how Stevenson was jumping up and down and all over the place after winning a fight.

During their fight he was calling the "black Russian" a punk and little boy from what I understand.

If he is a racist, it would all come to light.. I just don't see JD Jackson assisting and working for a racist. they seem to have lots of respect for one another.

 

In English there's the word "negro" which in Russian is "negr". It's not a bad word at all; it just means black (from the Latin "nigrum", which means black). Kovalev said this perfectly normal word in an interview, and so of course his haters jumped on it, and since most boxing fans are stupid, they think Kovalev's a racist.

They are just not all that politically correct over there in Russia. If someone looks like a ******, they will call it as they see it. Like many cultures, they don't buy into that whole unhealthy victim identity thing. I do sometimes think that Kovalev is a little too much though with the insults, pos etc.
