His problem was that he listened to the wrong party far too long and the right party not nearly enough. He should've ditched Duva for Top Rank years ago, and actually bought in to JDJ.
Who loved Duva? They're both D-grade promoters. At least Andre got paid damn well, though. Roc Boxing can't turn a profit to save its life, but I'm all for that overspending going to the fighters.

How did she fail him though? If Kovalev beat Ward there wouldn't be any issue. Its not her fault he lost. He wanted Hopkins IBF belt , she delivered it. He wanted Ward , she delivered it. Compare to want Canelo and Martinez got against Cotto . $2m to Wards $6m is better than Sergio's $1.5m to Cotto's $7m.
JDJ imo let himself down staying. He looks a bit of a wimp not showing Kov the door after their history...Decent trainers don't take a back seat and just take the money, they want the reigns and full control of their student. He wasn't training Kov by the sounds of it any way !
