I think Kova is being generous, I doubt Golovkin hits harder. But since people say he hits like a heavyweight, no reason for him not to move up. No more of this "he's too small for super middleweight". It's incredible how these dudes are so heavy handed.

On the scene. Says GGG's punches are very sharp and he says GGG punches harder than him.

How does he know his own power? Does he punch himself?

One would think it is difficult to judge your own power and compare that to someone you face in the ring and conclude who has the better power if the power difference is slight and GGG has a good chin. I wonder what his opinion is comparing GGG power with Beterbiev since he has faced both in the ring.

The problem is, Kovalev has never been hit by himself, so he doesn't know how hard he hits compared to Golovkin.

He might be talking about an overall power rather than a single punch power, which would be accurate. If you compare Pascal and Murray fights for example, Kovalev landed appr 15 punches per round whereas GGG landed appr 27, that's nearly double. GGG can be argued to be more accurate and to inflict more damage overall per round and throughout the fight.
