Golovkin would be recognized as the Ring lineal champion if he got all of the belts anyway. The Ring lineal champion isn't really a recognized belt, but it is a title. If you have all of the major belts, or belt the lineal champion, then you become the Ring Lineal champ. So the argument doesn't really make sense because Golovkin would be the champion automatically by getting all 4 of the belts.

Roy became undisputed LHW champ after beating Johnson for the IBF strap and became the undisputed champ yet Michalczewski was seen as the Lineal champ. The records show Jones was undisputed champ the night he beat Johnson yet it was only at the Glen Kelly fight was he deemed Lineal champ, yet Dariusz still held the belt.

As mentioned in my previous post, sometimes the lineal belt is handed out without it being won conventionally to which you replied
Well, RJJ was always seen as #1, and due to failure to arrange a fight and Dariusz making questionable defences, they gave Jones the lineal title without him winning it in the ring.

However, let it be known the record shows that Jones was LHW undisputed champ after the Johnson fight, some two and a half years previous to this event.

    Y'ALL MUSTA FORGOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GGG is becoming a sideshow in boxing. An entertaining distraction from those who dare to risk everything. Props to Krusher and Ward for putting it on the line, especially Kovalev for conceding so much to make Saturday night's fight happen; GeeGeeGee would never have taken that risk. So what if Krusher has taken a loss. Has his reputation risen or fallen? Risen, of course. What about his profile and earning potential? He's got a higher profile and will get the big fights going forward.

In fact, GGG and Kovalev should make a match at 170-172. Krusher would sign in a heartbeat, but Mr Broken Pen - who can beat anyone from LMW to LHW apparently - would find the ink has dried up. Again.

Yeah , Jones became undisputed having won the WBA, IBF and WBC..So you agree that Golovkin is undisputed ?
Which is what i said in page one of this thread.

    To which you replied

    To which i replied

    To which you replied

Jones had 3 belts when he became undisputed. He didn't have any WBO

Why? You tried to prove all 4 belts are required to become undisputed by giving an example of a guy being undisputed by winning 3 belts. Which is what i said in page one.

Not necessarily. Only the Ring can recognise him as the Ring lineal champion. Not anybody else. Beating Saunders won't make him the lineal champion.
The Ring belt wasn't on the line for Ward vs Kovalev because Stevenson was the Ring Lineal champion. He lost that place because they couldn't come to an agreement to fight. But he is still the #2 lhw in the world
Stevensn must be faced to determine the lineal LHW Champion.

No I do not as he does not hold the WBO belt which in 2016 is needed for a legitimate undisputed championship. Golovkin doesn't see himself as undisputed, so why do you?

Lol you're such a dumbass. You've been son'd and now you're trying to twist things. Let me aware you one more time. The WBA/IBF/WBC/WBO requirement is in the current day of Boxing, and in relation to Golovkin needing to beat Saunders to become undisputed. In the same way Ward needs to beat Stevenson to grab his WBC belt to have be legit undisputed champion.

What you quoted by me was in relation to the 2016 requirement of having all these belts. Ruling has changed but the basic premise that holding all the major organisation belts is required in order to become undisputed champion. WBO was not recognised as a major organisation until 2007 hence why Jones didn't need it and was seen as undisputed as soon as he beat Johnson. In the same way Winky Wright didn't have the WBO belt when he was first recognised undisputed LMW champion. In the same way Lennox Lewis didn't have the WBO belt when he was recognised undisputed HW champion. This is now required in 2016 seeing as WBO is part of the big 4. Comprende?

Ohhh. Well that's actually kind of silly. I could have sworn Ring magazine had some rule for the lineal championship where you became the lineal champ by either owning all of the main belts (implying that the lineal championship isn't exactly a main belt), beating the lineal champion, or beating the highest Ring ranked fighter in that weight class.

    Says who?

Wrong. Canelo is the consensus Lineal MW Champion.

Saunders is just a titilest and ranked #3 in the division. The Championship is vacant. There's no hope for you if you think beating Saunders is the equivalent of beating Canelo and lineal WBC champ Stevenson.

Says who what? Nobody considers him undisputed. Not one boxing site, not one boxing organisation. In fact you're the first person I have seen who is claiming he is undisputed.

Eh, right. Canelo's belt doesn't mean anything in relation to the undisputed championship. As official ruling states, one needs WBA/IBF/WBC/WBO belts in one's possession to be undisputed champion in 2016. Hence why Suanders is the missing piece of the puzzle.

I'm glad you're finally recognising Saunders as a title owner. Then how can one be undisputed if someone else in the division holds a major organisation belt? You're contradicting yourself. Equivalency is an irrelevancy. We're talking undisputed champion status. All Golovkin needs to do is beat Saunders to achieve that.

    What official ruling states that?
There's never solely been WBA/IBF/WBC/WBO undisputed champion in the history of the sport. Golovkin just needs Canelo.

Of course which is why Kovalev has always got my respect. He's a guy who wants to be great and isn't afraid to prove it. He will take risks and make concessions to get it done to. IMO Kovalev should have gotten even money with Ward for this fight. Kovalev>GGG his stock went up after this fight.

GGG on the other hand seems to be fine with staying in a dead division taking step aside money and blaming everyone else. He won't make concessions and think he's the face of the sport without ever beating anyone of note. Kovalev should have 10x the amount of fans and hype GGG has and it's a shame that he doesn't.
