Even Ward's own trainer thought it was a joke that Kovalev - the unified LHW champ - made less than half that of the challenger.

This wasn't even a superstar challenger, a true prize fighter.

Kovalev set the example of how to do very poor business. Congrats on taking the chance, but it backfired and next time instead of making 60% less than Ward, he will be making 80% less.

And this is coming from a big fan of Krusher. I know he was confident he would win (and did), but don't do anything at a discount.

Canelo left 160 and dropped his World Champ belt in the process. Did you forget that dino? :cunaooooo:

Canelo WAS the MW world champ. Not any more. 3G has the best claim to any MW title at the moment.

There's no real 'rule' to begin with. Once upon a time all you needed was the WBA and WBC. Times have changed, and just as the IBF gained legitimacy as a title, so has the WBO.

I clearly said I don't agree with the idea the champ takes considerably less than the challenger but he did what he had to do to get his highest pay day and attempt to cement his legacy, I don't understand why fans dont wanna see their guys take risks, rather they are more interested in whats going the fighters wallet.
