Kov won. I hope there's a rematch! I'd buy it and I'd be interested to see if Kovalev goes for the Ko early and how Ward makes adjustments. Wards just gotta find that pen.

 

Compubox isn't really accurate at all imo but in this case I think the stats really tell the story of the fight. Kov threw over 130 punches more just to Outland Ward by 10. As the fight wore on and we all saw how Kov gassed and only did notable work in rounds10 and 12, Ward was outworking him in a more economical fashion. Punchstats actually support Wards case moreso than they Kov. Ward even outlanded Kov in jabs, Kovalev's most effective punch other than the right hand that all but mostly disappeared after the KD. Let me remind you Mr popularity contest.

Kov did most damage in the first half of the fight. He landed some notable jabs in the latter but Ward landed more assortment of punches period while outlanding Kov in jabs. Kovs head was getting snapped back a lot. Ward won. They got it right.

Rounds 11 and 12 were a tossup, really. I feel that the viewer's bias can swing them either way. I split them 1 apiece, even though I'd like to give em both to Kovalev. Round 9 is another that could go to Kovalev even though I thought Ward did enough to nick it.

 

I agreed with 9 rounds and I also accept round 12 going either way. but round 3 and 5 are clear as day ward rounds..

 

Round 11 was a clear Ward round and not a toss up by any means. Ward landed a nice left hook to the body followed by a left hook up top. Later in round when Kov was pushed to the ground due to fatigue, he had a harder time getting off of the ground than Ward did when he was knocked down in round 2. Some of you try to play dumb. It's hilarious. All you have to do is use your eyes.

 

ward won round 3 and round 5 wasnt close at all just round 3 was wider.

round 9 also was not close that was wards best round.
my issue isnt you guys scoring it to kovalev it's you giving kovalev rounds he clearly didn't win.
you could easily score it for kovalev in a way it makes sense. but you got greedy and are giving rounds that don't make no sense. someone wins a round by a lot and you give it the wrong way.
the judges did the same thing kovalev CLEAR as day won round 10 but they all gave it to ward. it was semi close then BOOM biggest shot of the fight save for the knockdown.

 

Round 9 Kov got his head sent underneath the top rope from an overhand left lmao. Ward was even showboating landing the bolo punch. Please stop with rounds going either way. 12 was close but Ward got that one too. **** is on recall. I don't have to make this stuff up.

 

Thank you. This summed up what these clowns try to do. This is why I immediately ask for rounds right off the bat because it exposes people. It took CST a few posts of me asking him to just give me his rounds before he finally did. They always pull that because they know. They drop the popularity contest first stating everyone scored it for a Kov. After a little prying which I did they finally unveil their scorecard then I go to work on their a**. Then they play dumb.

 

Threw more punches, landed more punches, was the aggressor, did the damage, got the knockdown, was the champion ... it's obvious who won the fight.

This is probably closer to the truth it pains me to admit,still I like Kovalev he's a mean boxer who showed in the run up to the firs fight that he can respect and behave himself,it does just so happen that in Wards case he's right,son of judges lol.
