If he loses here, it may be the end of the road for him. Getting beaten by a 50 year old man, he will not get a chance at Stevenson afterwards, he will probably resume fighting guys for little money scheduled by Main Event Promotions. His legacy will be horribly damaged if he loses here. Bernard is great, and I'm hoping he'll win but the man is 50 years of age. Kovalev SHOULD win here. :deal Hopkins on the other hand has everything to gain and pretty much nothing to lose. He is expected to lose this bout. At the twilight of his career, he's just padding onto his stacked resume. If he manages to win here and win the unification bout vs Stevenson. His ATG standings should increase dramatically. Anyways WAR B-HOP!!!!
Yeah and if he wins it won't be viewed as highly as it should either but he still needs elite fights and this is the only one available.
I agree with this Hopkins has more to gain than Kovalev. If Hop wins he creating history and "defying the odds" if he loses well he's is old anyway. For Kovalev if he wins he's doing what he's supposed to do to an old man, unifying titles will be a big though. If he loses well you'd have to start reevaluating how good he actually is.
i agree.. if he wins he beat up a man who is pushing 50 .... if he loses he just lost to an old man ... it's a must win for Kovalev
It would be a big win for Kovalev also because winning this fights puts a legend to bed, unifies three titles, and open the door for younger talent. It will establish him as the man at 175 and all roads to greatness will have to go through him. Not to mention his purses will grow to match his status and that's always a plus.
:thumbsup Mongoose how is our boy Bert Cooper's comeback coming along? By the way what is up with your v-cash:think
Um no. Did Jermaine Taylor/CD's stock SKYROCKET after they beat Hopkins? It's a decent win, but nothing more than that. Let's not reach here. Hopkins is 49 years old ffs.
