Actually this is a dissapointing figure but there are reasons why this only did 1.3 million when it should have done closer to 2 million.

    1) Insane decision to start the broadcast at 10.45pm ET which meant the Kov-Hops fight didn't start till 12 midnight ET.

    2) Poor marketing. Kovalev should be as much of an attraction as GGG but i don't think Main Events have done a particulary great job of selling him to the mainstream press.

    3) The Age Factor - The fight would have been far easier to sell had they waited till January when Hopkins turned 50 years old. The difference between Hopkins being 49 and 50 may have only been 2 months but in actual marketing and publicity terms its a massive difference.

+1! Give the man his chance. I think in his post-fight interview Kovalev said he'll give men, who've earned their shot, a fair shot at the titles. Hope he sticks to that promise!

227,000 viewers for a population of 8 millions, on a sport network, when nobody from Quebec was fighting. Let just we would be 80 millions, it would have meant more than 2 millions viewers. I read somewhere that Pascal and Bute usully make the best ppv numbers except few guys like Mayweather, Pac, Chavez and Canelo.

I thought Fonfara had a legit shot at Adonis before the fight in spite of being stopped by Findley, Sukhotsky should debatably be undefeated I haven't seen the White loss but the Braehmer loss was very close.
Sukhotsky has a legit chance of winning and by KO.

He lost to Brähmer close but clear, and White actually did put on a very impressive performance that night and soundly defeated him, by at least an 8-4 margin (which I had, but gave Sukhotsky the couple of razor thin rounds with nothing between them) and possibly wider as the official judges had.

I think Sukhotsky is the better overall fighter than White, but just wasn't the better man in the ring on the night. Or maybe White's style is just really bad for him.
