Kovalev is still the best , He may not have won , but he proved to be the best , the first fight he was screwed , but he must still continue , he still has it in him, 2 losses shoudnt demoralize him

That video is pro Ward though, quite obviously...Kov don't really like the body being touched, but to say that snakes punches weren't low is agenda territory...

He is done, talk of retirement in boxing should be taken more serious than any other sport, Kov is down after a loss whether fair or not. With this mentality I could see him getting beat in his next fight...He had the deck stacked against him and it looks like its broke him... Shame, as he was a great long range fighter, that with the right trainer could've added to his game....JDJ should be swerved by boxers looking for a trainer

Kovalev beat SOB by decision in the first fight and won by disqualification in the rematch. Kovalev was cheated, he was hit to the testicles and the video and the still pictures clearly show it, but Bob Bennett refused to even review the video, that's why there is not instant replay in boxing. I don't blame Kovalev for retiring, he can't get a fair decision nor a fair referee. Blows to the testicles are illegal in boxing, everyone knows that, but not for SOB and probably not for El Pollo.................the promoters own the judges, referee, boxing commission, etc., Bob Bennett is the cheer leader and liar in chief!

Id be sorry to see him go from the sport. Exciting fighter. His problem against Ward, other than all the judges being called Andre Ward and the refferee being called Andre Ward was his stamina. He is a bad trainer and he has never admitted it to himself. He did not have the energy to go 12 rounds of wrestling, Ward sapped his energy, had he of been fitter he would of beaten Ward once and there wouldnt of been a rematch.

I tihnk he won the 1st Ward fight but he didnt do enough so the judges would look like massive corrupt idiots if they gave it to Ward and rather than work on that stamina for the 2nd fight he just blamed somebody else and sacked them from the training team. By the time Ward started beating him below the belt he was energetically empty again, thats why the head shot near enough finished it on its own. Kovalev should be able to handle shots like that from somebody like Ward.

Video shows quite clearly non of the blows were low. A few borderline but those are not enough to cause a dq. The big issue is the effect upon Kovalev. He can't take it to the body.

Where did I make that no-low-blow claim? Feel free to quote me. I think this is a case of mutual misunderstanding.

But it evidently has demoralized him on a very serious level. But it would be a mistake to assume that it was merely the officially recorded defeat per se. There might be a deep disappointment in American culture which is perceived as capable of blatantly propagating that sort of thing simply because a boxer is perceived as a foreigner.
