Kovalev intentionally went easy on Isaac - He's got Ward's camp fooled

    Did that boy's punchers ever cause any threat to Kovalev? Was his face cut up? Did it deter his approach?

    Did he not win most rounds? Did he not knock that boy down?

    Kovalev went easy on him, it's the same with AJ vs Breazelle. Aj could have finished him off in the 2nd round but eased off the gass to practice and get some experience.

    Likewise Kovalev wanted to test himself through the rounds against a ward type opponent. Nothing unusual or that you need a phd in psychology to get unless you're a dribbling spastic.

    i agree kovalev seemed to take it easy for most of the 8th, after dropping him in the 7th. nothing at all wrong with getting in the rounds. he's only went 12 once previously. that was the only time he'd been past the 8th.

    In his post-fight interview Kovalev said he was trying too hard to punch and got tired out. "I wanted to make a hard punch and that worked against me" ... "I believe my mistake was trying to put power in every punch".

    He was trying so hard to KO Chilemba that it tired his arms out and they felt "heavy". In round 12 he was throwng haymakers getting all off-balance and ragged, chin in the air. He was desperate for the KO.

    he definitely went all out in the 12th. whether he purposely wanted rounds or not, he couldn't get chilemba out in the final round.

    Let me tell you, I almost feel sorry for ward. He's got everyone around him after the fight telling him ''you got this''

    He's going to go in there overconfident, full of himself only to walk on to bombs that are going to sound louder than those four bullets that the police officer shot off in that car and he ain't gonna know what hit him.

    You must be really deluded if you think a champion is going to "go easy" in anyone. That thing never happens, they are not in the ring to play, not because they are risking their lifes, but because they are risking their family's money. Nobody plays with that.

    If he goes past 8 with Ward he's in big trouble. That means Ward is dealing with the power and is almost by definition winning rounds. Kovalev needs to blast Ward out, not practice for a 12 round tactical affair or engage in some sort of reverse psychology operation.

    That is overplayed, if you are an elite fighter and you are superior to your opponent you are not risking your life. The fighters can always choose to run if they feel they are in danger or use their defensive skills

    When a good boxer fights a bum with no skillset and no power (not saying this was the case here) do you think they are risking their lives?

    The only time fighters are risking their lives are in mismatches (events which shouldn't happen in the first place) or going up against a guy with insane power i.e fighting kovalev.

    This risking your life bs is peddled by pussies who've never boxed and look on in awe of those who do dare to get in the ring.

    It's like saying you wouldn't speed or cut up anyone on the road because you're risking your life by getting in a car :nut

    Reverse psychology psyche out. But this is very, very, very sophisticated mental warfare that Kovalev is employing.

    Andre Ward might just call off his camp altogether because he's fallen for Kovalev's very, very, very clever trick. Master stroke. Check mate, Andre, check mate.

    You dont risk your family's money to play around. That's the truth. You think he was "playing" with chilemba? you are a totally deluded fan, that's all.
