No I haven't fallen into that trap. I don't think SK is simply a KO artist. In fact, I know he isn't. But his strategy throughout his career has been based around intimidating his opponents with the threat of his power in combination with his boxing skills. It's the combination of those two factors which will have been diluted by the fact Ward took his best shot, got up and fought his way back into the contest. I feel this means SK will have to bring something new to the next party. Can he? We'll find out, I hope. And btw, save the 'joyboy' slur for those who warrant it.

 

We'll have to agree to disagree. There's no point going any further in discussing subjective opinions over the subjective topic of fight scoring. I will gladly say though, had the fight been scored close for SK or as a draw I would have had no issues with that. It's a pity so many people can't attempt to be a little more objective in assessing this fight.

 

No worries, squire and at least we get to see it again.... hopefully. In fact I want a trilogy and I am pretty certain SK would win one of the next two should there be three fights, maybe both. I rate both fighters highly!

 

A rematch would be a treat and a wonderful gesture to the fans I was thoroughly entertained.

Maybe you will feel more at peace without so much paranoia festering within your mind. Not everyone is some imaginary alt or white supremacist that you've concocted up in your mind to fight against.

Merely individuals with diverse opinions and views on the rich sport of boxing who are now slightly aggrieved after witness a travesty of justice.

 

Ok I'll play ball as you seem reasonable. I think there were a lot of very close rounds. Now I don't necessarily mean you because you seem to know your boxing, but some people fail to take into account the four aspects of point scoring: Legal and effective punching, effective aggression, ring generalship and defence. In the rounds where you might have scored in favour of SK's aggression I saw him miss despite coming forward and that would count in favour of Ward's defence and ring generalship. Those factors could swing rounds you count for SK in favour of Ward. By the finest of margins are rounds decided upon and yet when the card has to be marked it's final and absolute (A 10 or a 9 or an 8). With 12 rounds it's entirely possible a large number could have been scored either way. So yeah, I can see seven rounds for Ward.

Again, I don't refer to you, but many people place too much emphasis on CompuBox stats but 1. they don't take into account the other three factors in scoring and 2. We have no certainty to the voracity of the stats produced and the neutrality of the persons compiling them. Basically, is was a very hard fight to call which is why I would have been comfortable with all three outcomes. But anyone calling a clear win for either or a robbery are way off the mark.

He's the number 1 p4p. Vast majority of observers just said he outboxed Ward. That is about as good as it gets.
