https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vwEouBRA34 Just listen to those punches. You can hear the sound of the impact on his opponents. Unlike Golovkin, who varies his shots and sets up his power shots, Kovalev throws nearly every shot with some mean intentions. He punches through the opponent with every power shot. The jab is straight and powerful. His straight rights are powerful. His hooks are vicious. I can't remember the last time a fighter knocked out/down guys with straight shots to the body. GGG probably has more 1 punch power when he sets up the shot, but punch for punch, Kovalev is a lot more devastating.
He does have superb power though he showed in his last fight he has more than just power he has good skills to go with it. I can't wait to see what he does in his next fight, will he put on a display of obscene power or give us another boxing masterclass.
I find him a lot scarier than GGG, but that's more to do with the different personalities. GGG's just so damn nice and disarming you dont look at him the way you do Kovalev Might Beterbiev hit harder?
I think GGG has more strategy around his punches, but Kovalev is definitely an underrated boxer. I think what sets the two apart is that Golovkin mixes his tempo a bit more, he'll tap your guard softly - then break your ribs with the next shot.
Sergey Krusher kovalev is the hardest puncher inside boxing by a mile, just wait until march he will brutally finish the iron chinned pascal
Kovalev is vicious , I still cant understand how B hop survived the whole distance without even getting hurt by this animal .
What makes Kovalev really scary is that he's more than just a puncher. He has solid skills to go with his power. Look at how he feinted Hopkins to set up the knockdown in their fight.
And they stuck a 5'5" 125 pound female referee in with this guy LOL Gotta be able to physically control & move fighters if it comes to it...
