Kovalev is soft to the body...he'll be a sitting duck for Canelo

But Canelo's chin makes EVERYBODY appear feather-fisted. Golovkin and Daniel Jacobs looked like they couldn't punch their way out of paper bags, when all but their best shots pretty much bounced off Canelo's face, head and chin with 0 effect. I have no doubt Kovalev would look like another feather-fist when also his best shots look like they are coming from a pure feather-duster.

Average powered Light Heavyweight against iron chinned Mexican who'd never been close to being hurt against big puncher.

Only problem = Canelo is not a punching bag like Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

I commented in another thread about glass bodies - Daniel Laruso off Karate Kid infact.

But yeah, they both have glass bodies for different reasons.

One is old and a bit beaten up now.

One is or at least was (when I watched the film earlier) a doughy, bucktoothed nincumpoop who got bad ribs when that guy who shouts "put him in a body baaaaag...yeah ahahahhahahah" punched him in his glass ribs.

He gets hit enough, and Kovalev doesn't need to hit you clean to inflict damage. Kovalev's reach and more fluid punch selection will allow him to find openings that weren't there for Golovkin.

Look, I get it, you're a contrarian, you like staking out this weirdbeard position that MASSIVE punchers are actually featherfists, because they can't KO every fighter. Well, you can die out there on that brain damaged asinine limb by yourself. Because all of us real and far more logical boxing fans process the sport far better than you do. It's as simple as that.

You don't need to worry about my brain, or about me for that matter. Who I am is totally is totally irrelevant to the topic of discussion. I could exist as an entity without needing any biological components (brain) and it'd have no relevance to the topic.

Kovalev doesn't have more fluid combinations than Golovkin. Heck, Kovalev doesn't even throw better combinations in the first place and is arguably even more limited. Kovalev is even more notorious for spamming one-two's than Golovkin. Golovkin at least as a more consistent left hook and body combination attack.

The term 'feather fist' is relative. A boxer can go from being a feather-fist in one fight, to looking like a humongous puncher in another fight. If you (or anybody else for that matter) don't like me calling your favorite boxers 'feather-fisted', then don't overrate their power and force me to hold them to that standard. It's really that simple! Golovkin's been called the most powerful puncher in boxing for years now and could not even drop Canelo in combined 24 rounds. That = feather-fisted at the elite level. Golovkin's prior (or proceeding) performances against bums / journeymen are irrelevant to his power rating at the elite level.

All credit to Canelo if he takes that fight but I don't see it happening. I'd rather see him fight BJS and a Charlo for now.
