A boxer-puncher in the purist form. Anyone who compared him to a plodder like Pavlik need to apologize. His boxing skills are elite and his power is elite. Can't get any better than that.
I agree. He is top ten. No one has come close to fighting even with him and he just dominated an ATG...unexpectedly. I never would have imagined a shutout for Kovalev over 12 rounds.
He shut out the guy who had two belts in his division. Humiliated him. He dismantle also good boxer à la Sylakh, Campillo, and Cleverly. Hopkins may be old, it could have been seen as an elderly agression, but that was a master class.

I think Hopkins looked worse than ever, there were small glimpses but he was pulling his punches so badly, seemed like his mobility was gone, slow, really showed his age more than ever IMO. Credit to Kov but shockingly to me Hops really just fought to survive minus the 11th and 12th round maybe where he actually started fighting back. It doesnt surpise me Hops was able to evade most of Kov's punches, Kov aint exactly fast.
