Self proclaimed experts. I'd rather listen to a trainer with a world champion , then wildstyle the amateur boxer. Yeh I think jackson has more qualifications to call himself an expert above wildstyle.
Pernell? The crack head. I'd say jackson and I'd also take hopkins word for it, he said kovalev is the real deal, and he is someone who would know. He also knows a bout Jackson and thinks he's a very knowledgable trainer, he taught hopkins a few things himself. And now give me wildstyle accolades the expert of boxing.
Wild style says he should takeover his training so surely he must have some hot prospects or even good contenders he is bringing up through the ranks if he can compete with a trainer who has arguably the best fighter at LHW under his tutelage.
He is too reliant on the right hand for sure, it becomes predictable and leaves him open to counters, against a power puncher he'll pay for not mixing up his shots a bit more. Still a beast tho
Didn't he hurt him with a left hook before the first knock down. The right hand was there all night at one point he was jab jab right hand heavy because he was landing it at will. Pascal got wind of that & started ducking & rolling & countering with his own right hand. But kov started back fainting with the jab & going to the body then right hand which killed pascals little bit of momentum. Kovalev doesn't need a new trainer he is doing very well with super fly.
Kovalev hurt Pascal in the eighth round with a left hook when Pascal went reeling into the corner before Kovalev slipped. Haters are gonna hate as they say.
I'm calling it accurately. Too reliant throughout the majority of the fight. The left hand was an afterthought. He wasn't setting up his punches the best way he could. I've seen him fight better.
Besides the point, dummy. But, I don't expect you to be able to grasp it because you don't have the grey matter to comprehend what it is that I am saying you flat footed platypus.
Pascal is wildly inaccurate regardless of what Kovalev was going to do. Kovalev didn't spend enough time shifting momentum to his left side in any sense. Too much time squared up right in front of Pascal giving Pascal opportunities to counter with big shots because Kovalev was content on just throwing the 1-2 for most of the fight. The fact that Kovalev does so well when he sets up his combinations is case in point to what it is that I am saying. When he mixes it up he's so good at rendering his opponent completely helpless almost as they are forced to cover up and then he goes to work. That didn't happen as much in this fight as it has in previous fights for Kov. The idea that you think Kovalev using his left more would be exposing himself to more punishment just doesn't add up to me.
