With Ward inactive he is. Roman Gonzalez is 112 pounds. He's good, but I don't pay attention to sub 126 much. So little guy followers I'm listening.

Yes Manny beat Barrera, Cotto and Marquez, but that was years ago.

Yes Floyd beat Corrales, but that was years ago.

Kovalev dominated Pascal. He dominated Hopkins. He would dominate Stevenson. He's knocking out anyone in his path.

Right now he's the man to beat in boxing IMO.

Not enough to be number one. And conjecture doesnt get you there. Good fighter though and on the rise.

Nobody looks that great right now to be honest. If Manny, Floyd, Morales, Marquez, etc. were prime it would be a no brainer that he's not.

    Right now we're talking.

    Top 10 P4P, I agree...

    Not #1.

Mayweather, Roman G, Pacquiao, and Wladimir have got the top four spots on lock down.

Kovalev is among Estrada, Rigondeaux, and Inoue as "clearly top 10's, just not near conversation for #1" in my opinion.

I think Beterbiev will beat him easily

Beterbiev would shatter Kovalev's glass mandible.

Kovalev was a nobody 2 years ago, very few knew his name. It takes a lot more than a few top wins to go to the top of p4p lists. He's superb, he can be hall of fame material in 2 years with 3-4 wins over the likes of Stevenson, Beterbiev, Alvarez, Mekhontsev and maybe even Chavez Jr or Ward. But right now he's barely a top 10 P4P.

For beating a 50-y/o man and the guy who lost to him?

Hes definetely ahead of shot Mayweather at the moment, he struggled with Maidana while Kovalev is dominating and knocking out top fighters

He's definitely top 10, but #1?, hell no.
