Kovalev just outboxed the best boxer of his era

Kovalev landed more punches in addition to being the much much much much much bigger puncher. Ward has no ****ing power. Kovalev rocked Ward. Kovalev knocked down Ward. Kovalev wrecked his face. Kovalev didnt have a mark on him I would of never guessed that he was just in a fight.

 

You need to give Ward the benefit of doubt to score the fight in his favor, but a draw is pretty much the most reasonable call. Maybe even Kovalev by a point - but no more than that.

The fight was extremely competitive.

But he lost in the eyes of many MORE observers. By ratio it seems like AT LEAST 2/3 of the people thought Kovalev won (probably more). And that is usually an indication of a bad decision/robbery.

Contrary to what everyone is saying, IT IS possible to have a close fight yet still be a bad robbery. Think of Sturm/De La Hoya. When you go back and look at that fight, those were actually pretty close scores but history still has it as a robbery because the vast majority of people and writers (despite the close rounds) had it for Sturm.

 

A weak punching weasel that runs, holds that much and throws so few punches Im not sure a prime Mike Tyson could knock him out. This guy is like a John Ruiz hybrid slash octopus on steriods ok.

 

Well the blood that came out of Kovs nose for 2 rounds was caused by his trainer in between rounds right? Yep.

 

Well, Ward did knock Kov's head back and draw blood in the fight. He made Kov very uncomfortable in moments. Let's not act like he didn't have any success in this fight.

Ward is not, and never was, the best boxer of his era.

 

Before the fight many of as accepted that if it will be a 12 rounds fight no matter what Ward will get the victory. And as everybody knows now this was happened. Ward run all night and he's punches were like mosquito stings but was enough for this "fair" american judges. We all knew from the beginning that this will happen.
