in that case, kovalev should stay clear of hopkins, pascal, dawson & stevenson...and that's just the LH division.

It never ceases to amaze me hopw people still care about what happens at staredowns.

Fwiw, Hopkins was raised in some project in Philly, spent 6 years in prison.

Got out and went on to be one of the best fighters of his era. Having fought a hose of HOF fighters.

I dont think Kovalev staring at his is going to scare him.

It only matters if one truly is scared of the other guy and that hardly ever happens.
    B-Hop isn't scared, Kova isn't scared.

I base my prediction on how they fare in the ring and how they handle common or comparable opponents.
Their ability to adjust and their known strengths/weaknesses.

Sometimes those factors don't add up, but in most cases they do.

Ironically if Sergei really had said that, HBO would never have him on TV again, unless of course he went on an apology tour, and begged the forgiveness of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. And even then he would be referred to as that racist Kovalev, meanwhile no one would care about anything Adonis did still.
But I agree with cereal monotony, I don't think BHop is actually racist, he just race conscious like most people are. Most people don't actively hate anyone enough to be considered a true racist.

you misunderstood me. i didn't say MOST PEOPLE are not racist. i think most, if not all, WHITE people are racist...especially white americans. i have also known some racist latinos and asians. the reason I call those people racist is because they have clearly stated they hate or dislike other races. and the reasons they hate those other races is because those other people are different from them, look different, have different ways, etc....that is the definition of racism.

i think most blacks in america have been raised in a white society where we are exposed to white culture from the very beginning of our lives, and even raised in a white social construct so it's virtually impossible for blacks to be racist against whites...but many blacks hate whites because they realize that whites have done a lot to harm blacks and even when individual whites don't actually do bad things to blacks, those individuals support the racist society with their cooperation and silent acquiescence.

the funny thing is, racism is so ingrained in white society that it becomes the "norm" when it's coming from a white person ...and people have learned to condone it...but when it's a BLACK guy expressing hate for whites, those very same complacent people will jump on him and scream "racist!" as if they've just been waiting for a chance to turn the tables on a black guy.

This is just ridiculous there is racism on both sides of the aisle but a vocal minority doesn't make up the majority of both races. I grew up in Northern NJ where I was constantly being treated like **** for being white and I still know that doesn't mean most blacks are racist!

I think if you grow up with values instilled in wanting to be fair then you aren't going to be racist. You will weight up things hopefully for yourself and see the idiocracy in racism, especially when theres no such thing as race, its a minor variation of physical characteristics on a vast scale brought about simply because the world is so ineffably large.

Equally if you grow up for years with people who reiterate that certain groups are weak/stupid etc then these views are going to get internalised by you at some level, even if you initially reject these thoughts.

Both sets of characteristics can sit by side in someones head for years if they aren't the type of person who is inclined to sit down and work things out for themselves.

some isolated people in say very rural Ireland, who have never met a black person, can be as fair minded as anyone, but can still carry a born and bred pride in themselves that they associate with white because there are no blacks locally with which to associate their pride with. That doesn't mean its 'white pride', it just means its been associated with being white all their lives.

you are wrong...there is no "racism on both sides"...that's bull****. there is only "whites are racist toward blacks" and blacks in turn hate whites for all the racially motivated **** whites have done to blacks.

I do believe there is a difference between pride and racism though. Everyone can be happy and prideful of what they have accomplished but using pride to demean another group of people is obviously wrong no matter what color. I am very prideful in breaking my family's line of poverty and while I am not rich I am not poor either. My grandpa used to B*tch about my family coming to America as indentured servants and he blamed the family being poor and so did my mom on it. Instead of working out from poverty they relished in it. I on the other hand broke away from my family and their negativity and now have my own family and I am quite happy.
