do you realise Pascal was on his way to exit the arena on a stretcher pinned to life support equipment had he taken a couple more of those punches?

the referee's job is to make sure neither fighter sustains life changing injuries, or worse, dying in the ring

 

I didn't say it was a bad stoppage, I just think that from that angle Pascal looks like he's enjoying himself

It does look like Kovalev went down at least partially off a left hand though.

But hey, Pascal is the A side, if he wants a rematch he can ask for it basically any time.

Ref covered for Kovalev then saying that was a slip --- obvious knock down.
