Months before there fight, camp has barely started and they are merely going through the initial formaliteis so there is absolutely no tension. It is business like. Kovalev in such an situation offered Ward a handshake to which was turned down.

Now after 3 months of training camp, one night before the fight both fighters are pumped up on adrenaline - tired from doing their uttermost to make weight before re hydrating - I doubt many would be in the mood to offer the one who you are about to do battle with in little under 24hrs, with an amicable handshake.
