Kovalev should just stick to boxing smart instead of using power and aggression

No doubt it's time for that readjustment IMO. Like a power fastball pitcher in baseball that used to blow batters away but has lost a few MPH. Now relies on craftiness and experience. With this approach I think Kovalev can still be elite for a couple more years.

 

He doesn't have to press as much. He has shown high-level boxing ability in his career, and at this stage of his career just let the KO's come when they do. If the KO does not come, very few will be able to outbox him.
