All of Hopkins loses came from him being out worked and lazy in the ring. Kovalev youth and power was more of the problem then his boxing skills. The few times Hopkins did get off he seemed to bother Kovalev. It makes me wonder when Kovalev gets in the ring with a live body how he's going to look.

    Kovalev is the total package.

He put on an absolute clinic tonight against Hopkins. It was beautiful to watch. A little sickening for me to see Hopkins take so many clean punches (especially round 12). The only positive for Hopkins in this fight was that he proved he has one of the best chins in boxing. Kovalev would have KO’d just about any other fighter. Bernard can roll a punch but a lot of the punches in the fight he took clean — a rarity for him.

I’m really looking forward to a Kovalev/Stevenson unification fight. At the present moment I’m taking Kovalev by mid-fight KO. They are about equal on power but Kovalev is the better boxer.

Overpowered & out worked. Definitely did not outsmart. Looked like Frankenstein all day long. Not impressed. Bhop did great considering 49 yrs old. He blocked, slipped, moved and avoided most of the shots.

After watching this fight, I have to say that BHop certainly held back due to Kov's power, but he had success when he let his hands go. As for Kov, he fought smart, didn't go overboard with offense, except for the 12th, where he probably felt he wanted to show BHop and the fans just how powerful he was. Strangely, I do feel BHop could tangle well with Stevenson, but Kov might struggle due to Stevenson's aggressive style. Based on BHop suprising/stunning Kov with a few shots, Stevenson could have better success. Again, strange, but that's how I see it.

Sorry, what was that about Kovalev being one-dimensional?

Nonsense, he didn't go in there trying to use his strength and brawl with Hopkins, he went in there to box him. He out boxed and out thought Hopkins, beat him at his own game.

It comes down to age, fighters that get old in the ring all have the same problem. They can't seem to get off, Hopkins average 15 punches per round. That's the definition of not being able to get off and looking old in the ring.

Kovalev also fought a smart fight, he boxed not letting Hopkins get set to do anything but be defensive. Hopkins also had respect his power which kept him at bay. its time for hopkins to call it quits, maybe get one more fight he can win and go out like that.

This is exactly why fans should't complain about fighters not daring to be great anymore. When they, do they get bull**** stupid criticism. Hopkins di't get schooled. He just physically doesn't have it anymore at 49.

That's exactly what I said would happen. Once he tasted his power he would just try to survive in there. Kovalev was smart, very smart. Kovalev moved out of range before Hopkins even tried to clinch and spoil, headbutt etc....

Hopkins became Popkins once Kovalev connected cleanly. I'm still proud of Popkins for not finding a way out, usually that knockdown would hurt his balls.

I love these backhand insult compliments posts by these guys who would have told you yesterday how hopkins got this easy.

Face it... Bhop looked like a catholic school girl in there. He was abused and made to look like an amateur as a boxer. He was ruined on every level. Had he had more to give he would got more in turn, and we know how that ends. If he's lucky, he's in the hospital. Kovalev could beat the crap out of stevenson and hopkins at the same time. Kovalev destroyed him. Don't need you to be impressed. Just need your dollars and pride taken. Thats all that needs be.
