Kovalev took Hopkins to school

Exactly, that's why Hopkins he didn't try this earlier. Only in 12th round. He knew he would get KOed so he fought to survive hoping for a miracle.

 

Kovalev beat hopkins at his own game.
There where so many saying that kovalev could only win by knockout but he would never outbox Hopkins.
But hopkins was schooled, never thought i will write that but it's true.
Even on the inside, and kova as applying smart pressure and at times landing straight right rights flush to the head and body at will.
And the few times hopkins tryed to counter he got countered by Kovalev.
It was a boxing clinic, superb perfomance by kovalev.

Hopkins workrate is always low against fighters willing to throw leather, its been that way since his middleweight days.
Hopkins was throwing in single digits the first half of both fights with Jermaine Taylor and that was eons ago.
